About
I am very professional, I document my activities and I follow up with the client with ideas for improvement. For projects, I keep the client apprised of progress and status. I typically have a no-charge, post-repair meeting with the client during which we can discuss possible ways to prevent re-occurrence and any concerns they may have.
I have over 25 years of experience working on Windows computers and servers as well as many different kinds of peripheral devices. I was chosen as a Microsoft MVP for Windows from 2004-2011.
I love problem-solving and seeing the smile on the client's face when they're back in business.

Roger fixed the problem with my computer and showed me what to do should that ever happen again. He also helped with a problem with my laptop, and even helped me take apart a lamp. He really went above and beyond!

I cannot praise Roger's work enough. I have a very difficult schedule to say the least. Roger came by picked up my PC on the only time I had available. He then listened to issues I was having and said his goal for my equipment to work better than when it was brand new. I appreciated the confidence, but frankly just wanted it to work period. True to his word, when I got the unit back it worked better than when I first bought the unit. I spent several hours testing it before having to admit his promise was better than I imagined. I will never let anyone else work on my computers. He is better than I could have hoped for. Not only did he fix all issues, but sent me a personal note on more ways to improve my current equipment if I wanted. I can only give Roger a 5 star in this rating, but if there was a 100 point rating I was still give him 110. Honest, reliable a true gentleman. Thank you so much Roger.

I had a RAM issue that I contacted Roger for. He pre-qualified the problem first which I appreciated very much. He was prompt, and was very informative and professional. He was very thorough in his assessment and did a fantastic job with it. It was a pleasure dealing with him and I would use him again in the future, which is very likely given my circumstance.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's not complicated. It can be either Time & Material at an agreed upon rate (different rates apply to home users/standalone PCs versus business/networked PCs) or a managed services agreement paid monthly, quarterly or annually, in advance. It is also possible to get pricing based on a specific detailed project description.
Standard fee for home users/standalone PCs or attached devices is $60 per hour with a one hour minimum. Remote Support is $50 per hour with a half-hour minimum.
I offer $10 per hour discount to Veterans and clients over 70 years old.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After attending to any issues requiring immediate attention, if circumstances permit and they are agreeable, I usually examine their equipment/environment and offer them some consulting about how they might improve or correct existing conditions. I do not attempt to sell products to my customers however I sometimes make suggestions that involve purchasing hardware or software and I can suggest potential sources for those items. If a customer prefers that I provide the items, I can do so. As a rule, I don't mark up such items but I may charge a fee for my time if it involves a lengthy process.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I usually do a lot of reading online and in magazines to stay abreast of the latest developments. I also like to pioneer the latest Windows versions. For instance, I currently have Windows 11 deployed in an HP laptop as well as in a Virtual Machine and two desktop file servers in my workshop.
