Tamara is an excellent and highly knowledgeable personal trainer and is very focused on a holistic approach to wellness and training. Since working with her for a little over two months, I have lost 7.1 lbs. I workout with Tamara 3x a week, practicing strength training, aqua bootcamp and kickboxing. Throughout our sessions, my comfort, safety and physical ability has always been Tamara's priority - she never pushes me to accomplish unrealistic goals, is always very sweet, kind and patient with my progress. She is always rooting for my success, is super fun to workout with and is willing to work within my schedules and at my pace. I highly recommend anyone looking for a solid trainer in the New York City area!

I have worked with Tamara Patrizi in many gym capacities from group aqua class to individual aqua class to personal training sessions since July 2018. I am so happy to be working with her! She truly values her client and their well-being, always catering the workout sessions to help meet the clients' needs and their limitations. She comes prepared with a detailed regimen from warmup to cool-down. She is always punctual and works with the clients to schedule sessions that best meets the clients' schedule. She is very attentive, listens carefully to her clients and provides her expertise feedback and advise. Her energy, enthusiasm, and positive attitude creates an environment that is not only important for a person's overall well-being but also makes working out a fun experience. I always look forward to the workout sessions. I have received great results, have a better posture, lost weight and feel great! I would highly recommend her! I've had Tamara as a trainer for a couple of months, and she is the absolute best! She's the kind of trainer who will push you to be the best you, but won't bully you to the point that you dread the workout. She also takes the time to really customize your workout. I have knee problems, so she came up with alternative workouts that work the same muscles with the same high effort without causing pain in my knee. She is very kind, but will be firm with you because she genuinely cares to see your success. I've had multiple trainers throughout my life, and I've had the most success under her regiment and I truly believe it's because she has the perfect balance between pushing you physically without emotionally draining you (like many trainers do). 15/10, would recommend!

I used to be a gym rat years ago, but after various injuries I stopped exercising regularly & wasn't sure how to start again (which is why I wanted a trainer). I started seeing Tamara after my latest injury. I wanted to ease back into an exercise routine while being mindful of my past injuries. Tamara is perfect for this journey :) She noticed right away (by watching how I did certain movements) that my muscles were tight, and we started with flexibility training. Because I expressed concern about my past injuries, Tamara suggested that I start with strength exercises in the pool (water provides both resistance & "cushioning"). I have just started the road to "gym recovery," and I am happy to have Tamara as a guide!

Tamara was instrumental in helping me restore my poise and posture. In recovery from PTSD, I worked with Tamara twice a week (Aqua Ballet, Barre & Flexibility) to recover my “grounding” and physical self-trust yet Tamara extended my recovery journey to a full physical enjoyment of my body’s elegance. Her empathy - exceptional- combined with her deep, intuitive understanding of the body makes her a unicorn of physical trainers: good physical listening, great understanding and determination. Her determination, I believe is her most generous gift, to make us who have the good fortune to know her feel strong and know how. Tamara understands physical - and in my case feminine-way.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    As a professional my scope is to conduct a health screening that includes your medical history and a review of your chronic disease risk factors and presence of any sign or symptoms of diseases. After the health screening information I can decide if to proceed with a fitness assessment (to determine your health and fitness level) or refer you for further medical evaluation . Once your baseline health and fitness has been determine I can design the best safe, effective programs for you to achieve your specific goal.
