  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

    Chitra Ramanathan began to paint from the age of four when she was enrolled in an art school for children at Kolkatta, India. She gathered prizes through competions throughout her growing years, earning a bachelors degree in Painting while still in India. Subsequently she earned a second bachelors degree in Painting at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign after moving to the United States.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

    Create custom paintings of any size for businesses, organizations and educational institutions as commissions. Site-specific public art projects are also accepted. Original paintings in different sizes are also currently available for purchase. Current: Teach classes in different painting mediums at the Art School of the Vero Beach Museum of Art, Florida 2011 ongoing 2004-2010 Taught courses including transfer to college credit at the Indianapolis Art Center, Indianapolis

Her work was noticed by art critics which led to a steady sale of her originals by individual buyers as well as businesses. Commissions followed by organizations and educational institutions seeking to commission the artist to create site-specific public art installations in venues such as a pair of large paintings on permanent display in the Bellagio Conservatory at the Bellagio Hotel, Las Vegas.
