FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is very simple. I charge the customer for the flowers, add the labor to create the arrangements and if we are decorating the venue, the cost of any equipment rental such as arches, candelabras, table covers, chair covers and satches etc. and then a delivery and set up fee is added plus any taxes and refundable deposits for rental items.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Ftd. Bloomlink. the Association of American Florist, all have continual education, tips and ideas that are always on the forfront of flower designs. Also our regional floral wholesalers have seasonal open houses where we get to learn about the latest techiques and ideas and new flower varieties.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I'm second generation in the florist and bridal business. My parents came to this country in 1970 and shortly after opened Humberto's Florist & Bridals. I grew up in the business. I am a professional floral designer with my paper qualifications but most importantly I have the experience of doing something I love for most of my life. I also worked as a floral instructor for the School Board of Palm Beach County and have done freelance work for famous designers like David Cutera and others.
