Introduction: As of recent I have found it necessary to clear up a few items. I charge a initial fee for coming over. I have to do this to cover my expenses, fuel, time, the cost of Thumbtack. When it comes to window repair. I fix the windows but not the glass. Appliances, I do install, Over range microwaves, Refrigerators , water lines. I clean out dryer vents. I have recently repair two different water supply lines for washing machine, that were corroded on. Please remember I do need to charge that initial fee. My performance, I show up. If I can not show I will be in communication. My work is done on a professional level. My attitude of the years has turned many of my customers in to life long friends. I have been trusted not only with the security of very high end homes, but I was in shock when one of my customers, ran to the store. She told me she was leaving William, a three year old, if I didn't mind. I made the remark that I appreciated the trust she had in me. Funny enough her response to that was she trusted me to care for him more than her husband. I really enjoy the feeling, of being welcomed and people happy to see me, not only as a repairman, but as a friend. I have actually spent many holidays, birthdays, or just dinners out with people who started with that, first call to me. The people and the constant change of work. I leave a home and the customer is happy and smiling. I have taken the stress out of their problems, and solved them. The confidence , trust, and relief my customers have, that once they have a problem, their solution is to call Chris.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I do charge an initial fee. This is order to cover my expenses, ie. fuel, time, thumbtack fees.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I do ask questions. I try to figure out the best course of action for them. Time budget, goals. Recently I had a woman purchase a front door lock that wasn't very good, $12. Very cheap for a front door. I told her if she would go out a purchase a good one , I would come back for free and install it. I felt better she was safer and I would have a customer down the road. I've been back to do three other jobs for her. I do charge by the hour for most jobs. I have found it comes out fair for both sides. For larger jobs we can always discuss other ways, as well as not exceed options.
