Thumbtack has been my “Go To” Source for all things needing reliable service and often what is received is service beyond expectations and this is exactly what I received when calling Mechanic Star (Anton). My mother called me in distress because she is a senior citizen, and her independence relies on her having a working vehicle to do her daily short errands around town. Her concerns were for me to deal with was her power steering was not working in her 2005 Crown Victoria. After a quick glance I realized there was a leak but not knowing where or why I looked at Thumbtack and found my new Mobil Mechanic Anton. Anton responded to my initial request for a quote to diagnose and fix my mother’s vehicle within the first 15 minutes of my posting. He reviewed my issues and gave me a fair quote based on what was being told the problem of the car was – He suggested a meeting day and time and was excellent in communicating his status and confirmations. Anton arrived at scheduled meeting day on time and was totally prepared to work on my mother’s vehicle without any hesitation. Anton quickly surveyed the engine bay and determined what needed to be done. He communicated what was causing the leak and we agreed to proceed with the repair. Anton has all the tools to work a vehicle, and if necessary, he will make a quick pitstop to the local Auto Parts Store to pick up any parts that may be required to make repairs. Anton made two special trips to collect all the parts that were required to fix the valve leak that was the root cause of the fluid leak in this aging but low mileage 2005 Crown Victoria. Once the parts were collected, Anton repositioned himself under the car and worked his mechanical magic. With that the car was repaired, and my mother was once again happy that she now had her independence back with a safe working vehicle. Anton held true to his budget friendly quote, he initially paid all parts, but cost of the new valve was passed on to me which would be expected. I found Anton to be a great mechanic able to work on all makes and years of vehicles, he is a hard-working grit and stone old school guy that is a family person trying to live the American Dream building his business. I can say that he has found another satisfied customer, and I am looking forward to working with him on other vehicle projects (my restored Corvette) that will need mechanical attention in the near future.
