For children (ages 7 and up) and adults.
Over 30 years of experience with all ages and levels. Learn note reading, improvising (playing by chord) or both.
Private or semi-private (group of 2) lessons available.
Privates lessons are 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 1 hour.
Semi-privates are 1 hour. In the semi-private lessons, each of the 2 students is under a headphone, at his/her own piano, learning individually at their own pace. This type of lesson allows more warmup time on each song and more time to try anything new. I go back and forth between the 2 students and listen to them under my set of headphones.
Lessons can be taken weekly, every other week or randomly.
Every other week gives the student more time to practice before each lesson with less cost and less driving time.

I have been taking piano lessons with Joyce for about 3 months now and I LOVE IT! I progress very quickly due to her excellent teaching style and always look very forward to my lessons. Well worth my commute to her! She is very patient and knowledgeable and has a great ability working with any client regardless of age or level at piano. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to start piano or advance their skills further.

I was reluctant to start piano as a semi-retired adult. Joyce made it easy to start and comfortable to fit into my schedule. I appreciate her teaching methods and very quickly learned not only the notes and how to play, but also learned music theory. I highly recommend her.

Joyce is a wonderful teacher. My 12 y/o left the lesson eager and excited and is looking forward to the next lesson. I appreciate Joyce's teaching method and really happy we stumbled onto this site. She lives only a mile away! What a great fit.

I am an older adult and took piano lessons to 'keep my mind active and my hands limber.. I never felt out of place in the "piano room' with people that were a few decades younger then me. Joyce's piano room was set up so her students had their own space. We were not right on top of each other and Joyce moved from student to student listening to our music without missing a beat. Each student was able to work individually at our own pace. Joyce was a patient instructor and took it in stride if we didn't practice like we should have. The class length of an hour was the correct length. Allowing us to practice and repeat a song multiple times in the hopes of moving to the next page. Longer then an hour and I would have been very antsy. In addiition, Joyce has her own series of piano instruction books. When she saw there was an area that we sturggled in, she made notes to rewrite it and make improvements, Lastly, Joyce did not discriminate, either, on who she passed out suckers to. Young or older, we all received the occasional sucker.

Joyce taught two of my boys piano lessons for several years. She did a great job with them from the very beginning. She is knowledgeable and patient, and she makes it fun for the students. We really liked the group lesson format as well. I would definitely recommend her as a piano teacher.
