Sherry Ellis is an outstanding violin, viola and piano teacher! Our daughter took violin lessons from Sherry for over four years after taking lessons from other violin teachers. During that time Sherry guided and encouraged her to continually improve her musicianship and her skills as a violinist. Sherry exhibited kindness, patience, and excellent musical teaching skills. Our daughter's confidence as a violinist and her love of playing the violin grew as a result of Sherry's instruction. Our daughter is now is enjoying playing violin under scholarship for the University of Kentucky Symphony Orchestra and is a music minor. Above and beyond being her teacher, a bond built on the love of music and playing stringed instruments formed between our daughter and Sherry that remains strong today.
All of Sherry's students (violin, viola and piano) were completely prepared and played beautifully at her year end recitals.

Many of my school orchestra violinists and violists were fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Sherry as their private teacher. The students loved her energy and passion for teaching while I felt confident that they were receiving excellent instruction that aligned with my pedagogical approach to string playing. It's hard for non-musician parents to know if their child is receiving quality instruction; trust me, with Sherry they are receiving the best.

Sherry was giving violin lessons to my two daughters for several years. Her love and enthusiasm for teaching music showed highly in each and every lesson. It helped my daughters feel inspired in learning playing intricate instrument. Sherry is not only a great teacher, but a very talented musician herself.
