This review may be a little long but I feel that its worth spreading the word. TLDR: This man and crew do amazing work and I am extremely happy with the results and my decision to hire SCOA! My house was in horrible condition; siding, fascia and window trim were rotten on a large percentage of the house and the deck was in horrible shape. It was looking like one of those houses that you are upset with your neighbor about. I was at the point of just wanting to slap paint on it and turn it into a rental. I hired Jimmy/SCOA via Thumbtack (it didn't hurt all of the 5 star reviews he had). He came over and we reviewed the estimate, contract and discussed the work and time of completion. Everything sounded great so I signed the paperwork and then Jimmy says, "I'll see you tomorrow." What? Sure...I've heard that one before. To my shock and surprise, bright and early the next day, Jimmy and crew started work on my house. The crew was pleasant to chat with but also knew they were here to work and didn't waste time. Fast forward to the end, I am very happy with the outcome. SCOA was able to turn my POS into something that my wife and I want to stay in for at least another 10 years AND was able to do it for a very reasonable price. Hire this man. You will be happy.

The Munoz Team replaced necessary trimming, soffit and painted all outside shutters, doors, window seals, and pressure washed my brick home. Fence work was also done. The quality of the work was professional and detailed-oriented. The Munoz Team worked well together and did a beautiful job. My home looks new and fresh! I would definitely use them again. Floyd did a great job repairing the rotted wood frame on our front door using PVC trim wood. He was able to locate and replaced new 10"window sidelites and installed new blinds. He attached an awning and handrail we had purchased, and his labor cost/pricing was reasonable for each project. He was reliable, hardworking, and listened to our concerns during the home repair. We would rehire him for future projects.

I recently hired Shannon St. Clair of Pristine Cleaning for two large business sights; one is two story. This young lady asked to meet with me to see both sights before she was to clean, so that she could create a plan to maximize efficiency and cleaning time. This visit was free. She is extremely organized and her cleaning methods went above and beyond anyone else who had ever cleaned for me. This young lady even cleaned the large staircase slats & banisters; details above and beyond like wiping down and moving each wooden chair and cleaned all upholstery in the chapel area. She didn't miss ceiling fans, knicknaks, glass surfaces, etc and even worked beyond the hours scheduled- she did not ask for any additional money. She supplied her own top-notch cleaning supplies and small vacuum. You will get much more than you pay for with Shannon St. Clair's Pristine cleaning!

Had a window leak and Darius came over to inspect before drawing a conclusion. He then provided a thorough explanation of what he saw and proceeded to fix the issue for a fair price. Follow up included a rundown on what he did as well as photos of the work. I'd use him again!

No high pressure sales! Steven took measurements, showed me the window he recommended and left me with a quote to review with my wife. The other companies tried to back me in a corner to sign on the spot. Window Source also had the best price (which is why they didnt have to pressure me). Installation went great and I love my new windows. This is the company to use in Atlanta!

I live inStone Mountain and my home is surrounded by trees. My bay window had a unfortunate run in with a tree limb during a thunderstorm. I called Mr. Wilder, well Mark, and he reassured me that he could take care of me. He can over the same day and gave me a quote. Needless to say I was more than satisfied with his work. My windows look even better than before the accident. I would definitely recommend his services. T. Harris

He also replaced door and door jam for our son's bedroom and fixed broken spindle on staircase and repaired cracked window sill. We are so impressed with his craftmanship and will definitely be using him for future projects. He was punctual, fair pricing and went above and beyond our expectations!

High quality mods built with high quality components. I've ordered both a wooden series box mod and an aluminum dna200 box mod. Both over a year old and still working flawlessly.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do you replace a window?

You may want to replace a window if the glass has been damaged, you’re remodeling a room, or you want to upgrade your energy efficiency as well as your style by getting rid of those drafty single panes that are losing you money. When replacing a window, you can remove and replace the entire window down to the house frame. This method is best if the existing frame is damaged or deteriorating, but requires construction skills and know-how and will take more time and money. An easier and less expensive option is to install an insert replacement window into the existing frame. Insert replacements are only an option if your window frame is in good condition without rot or damage.

When replacing an entire window, first you’ll carefully remove the existing window with a pry bar and other tools. Next, you’ll make any repairs and adjustments needed to the existing frame or header and studs to ensure that the space is perfectly plumb and square, so the new window will sit perfectly within the space. Next, install the new window from the exterior, securing it into place. You’ll need to precisely wrap and insulate the window to ensure it doesn’t leak. Then, install the interior casing and exterior trim (as needed). If you prefer to hire a professional to install a window, consider replacing more than one window at a time, as the pro can work more efficiently.

How much would it cost to put in new windows?

The cost to replace a window can vary depending on factors such as window size, type of glass, brand of window, necessary trim repair, and any construction work required for installation. Labor rates and cost to do business in your region will also affect the cost. The national average window installation cost is $2,650 per project. Here are some examples of average trim repair and window replacement costs:

      • Trim repair:
        • Line and case a window frame with an MDF product: $400.
        • Line and case a window frame with raw hemlock wood: $500.
      • Approximate cost to install five windows at one time: $3,000.
      • Approximate cost to install one double-hung, energy-efficient 3-foot by 4-foot window: $500-$550.
        • For the same window size (3-foot by 4-foot) from a different manufacturer made with a specialty fiberglass exterior and all-wood interior, the cost could go up to $1,500.
        • Pricing can go as high as $5,000 for a bay or bow window with specialty glass and framing.
          • These examples include removal and disposal of old materials and window.

How much is a custom window?

Choosing custom windows will increase your window installation cost but will provide you with exactly what you want. The average national cost for window installation is $2,650. Your custom window costs will vary based on several factors. The first factor is the type of frame you want. The four most common types of frames are vinyl, fiberglass, aluminum and wood. Wood is typically the most expensive option, followed by aluminum. The type of glass you select will also affect cost. There are single-, double- and triple-pane windows. Most double- and triple-pane windows have gas sealed between the panes that act as insulation. Windows typically cost more the more energy-efficient they are, though this efficiency can save you money on utility bills in the long run. The type of glass used can also affect cost. There are different grades of glass — high-performance glass, low-e coated glass, and more — which all provide you with better insulation. In addition, the number of unified inches (window height x window width) you need will affect cost. The cost of custom windows will also be affected by installation cost and whether any repair or construction work is required to properly fit the new window.
