Bobby S. says, "You can only choose three items, so I chose good quality, professionalism, and responsiveness. There was good value in the pricing that was charged for the excellent quality of work. This is an honest review. I think 5 stars need to be for an exceptional experience. Would have given 5 stars but there were concrete pieces left in the pool and a significant amount of concrete dust on the pool water surface. Just a little work to scoop out and skim the top with a skimmer net but the work on the flagstone and replacing the skimmer basket were top notch. They did clean the pool deck and flagstone surface but left the inside of the pool unclean. Cost 1 star. The work was to replace a skimmer basket and grind and replace grout on flagstone on top of outside pool wall. The crew was excellent at the big picture. That work is specialized. The crew was experienced and efficient. I am very appreciative of the work and the fact that Dan called me back and was on top of the crew. I will not hesitate to use RTP pools again for sure."See more

Shawn H. says, "I had a great experience with Ammar and Khalid. Received an immediate response and they started the project quickly. I had a one bedroom condo that needed repainted, a dishwasher and microwave install, closet rack replacement, drywall repairs, and several other handyman type items that I needed completed. They were able to do everything in 2 days and did a quality job. I’ve been in real estate for 20+ years and have worked with all types of contractors. These guys are not only very personable and know what they’re doing, but they are thinkers. Some of the work I needed done not only required labor expertise, but they had to think and figure out how to resolve several problems that didnt have a very obvious solution. For example, they did the dishwasher install but when I tried to use the dishwasher I kept getting error messages and it wouldnt cycle thru. Called them back to check the problem and they realized that the problem was actually with the garbage disposal install that wasnt completed properly. It was a 2 second fix, but it caused the dishwasher not to work properly. Needless to say, they took the time to troubleshoot, worked the problem and solved it although it had nothing to do with the install they did. Not only was it kind of them to do that, but also very smart. They are thinkers, problem solvers and excellent general contractors and handymen. They did an outstanding job and for those reasons I would not hesitate to use them again. If you need professional, reliable, creative, expert contractors to get the job done quickly and properly then call Ammar and Khalid. Nice guys who do excellent work. You’ll be happy you did."See more

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do I find a good carpenter in Atlanta?

You’ll find top-rated carpenters in Atlanta by searching online. The type of carpenter you need will depend on your project or the repairs you require. For example, if you need framing on your house, look for a framing contractor. Or, search for a cabinet maker to build or repair custom cabinetry, and hire a trim or finish carpenter to put the finishing details on your new home. You can also hire a general contractor to coordinate your carpentry work.

To ensure you hire the best pro for the job, ask them if they have any credentials. This can include a license or other certifications. And, make sure you compare prices in Atlanta by requesting free estimates from at least three carpenters.

How do I hire the best landscaper in Atlanta?

You can hire the best landscaper in Atlanta by searching for one online. Start by comparing ratings and customer reviews among local pros. If you find a customer review with photos of the pro’s work, check them out to see what types of landscaping the pro excels in.

Also, make sure the landscaper or landscape architect you hire is properly licensed in Georgia. You might find this information on the pros’ profile, or you can try searching for it online

After you’ve narrowed down your search for a landscaper to a few Atlanta professionals, reach out to all of the candidates. Give them information about your landscaping project. For example, are you planting native plants and trees, like Southern magnolias or Georgia asters? Do you want to build a stone patio or walkway? Do you want to install an outdoor fireplace, misters or a water fountain? By giving the landscapers as much information about your project as possible, they can give you an accurate cost estimate.

How much does landscaping cost per square foot?

The cost of landscaping can vary widely based on the type of plants you wish to have, the amount of grading required, the condition of the land before work begins, and other factors. Adding in designer or high-end landscaping, as well as hardscaping such as sidewalks, walls, or patios will add to the cost. To find out how much your landscaping will cost, contact landscapers near you.

Is hiring a landscaper worth it?

A landscaper is worth it if you don't want to invest a significant amount of time and effort into planting, trimming, raking, weeding and performing other operations on your garden or yard. Hiring a landscaper to perform regular maintenance in your yards and complete bigger projects is valuable if you’re looking to sell your house. A professional landscaper can make your house more appealing to potential buyers.

Some landscapers may perform maintenance duties — remove leaves, mow lawns, trim trees and shrubs, etc. —  but they can also help you bring bigger projects to life. This may include adding a misting system, an outdoor fireplace, water features, artificial turf, a patio and much more.

Start contacting landscapers near you to get free estimates and start planning your project today.

How much does landscaping cost?

The price of landscaping varies widely due to the range of choices that can be made, but you can expect to pay anywhere from $320 and $20,000 for your landscaping work. The national average cost for a landscaping project is $2,600.

Factors like the choice of plants, the amount and type of hardscaping, the square footage of your landscaped area, and the region you live in will have a significant effect on your landscaping cost.

Where can you buy landscaping rocks?

You can shop for landscaping rocks from a variety of different sources. The first option is large chain retail stores specializing in home improvement and gardening. Often, landscaping rocks like slate and other slabs arrive on pallets and are sold in bulk, giving you a great deal. Your local landscaping store also carries rocks, and you may even have a stone or quarry seller nearby who can sell you the rocks you need. When in doubt, contact landscaping companies near you to see if they have rocks you can purchase.

What is landscaping?

Landscaping is the intentional placement and maintenance of living plants on an area of land or in your yard. This can include trees, lawn, flowers, bushes and other plant life and often incorporates mulch and other organic matter. The primary purpose of landscaping is to provide beauty to the house or building it surrounds.

Many landscaping companies also offer design, architecture and construction services. For example, they can help you design a yard that incorporates a patio, deck, pool, fire pit, lighting, walkways, retaining walls and more.

How much does landscaping improve home value?

Landscaping your property can boost the value of your home between 5% and 15%, according to Better Homes & Gardens. They specify that this is the amount of value added when you upgrade the condition of your landscaping from poor to good, though these terms are subjective.

What is landscape design?

Landscaping design refers to the art of analyzing an existing landscape, planning how to transform it through flora and fauna design and working with a client to ensure goals are met. Landscape designers may completely transform an outdoor space or make minor modifications to enhance it. They may also call for grading and the construction of hardscaping surfaces like walkways or patios to add to the enjoyment of the space.

Who is a carpenter and what do they do?

Carpenters are skilled craftsmen who build things out of wood. Depending on what the carpenter builds, they may be referred to by various names. A framer is a carpenter who puts up the framing on a house. A trim or finish carpenter installs the finishing touches of prefabricated or custom trim and detail work once a house has been built and the walls are up. A furniture maker or woodworker builds furniture — such as tables, beds and dressers — out of wood. A cabinetmaker is a carpenter who builds custom and semi-custom wood cabinets. If you’re having a home built or remodeled, your general contractor will either provide or subcontract the carpentry work for the framing, cabinets and trim. You can hire a carpenter directly to update the trim in your home, build you a piece of custom furniture, or repair or replace your wood cabinets.
