I contacted him. He immediately emailed me back. I like him already because he does a free consultation, over the phone, to taylor the lessons to fit the students need. I have yet to have my consultation, but I appreciate him getting back to me. The response time was remarkable.Feb 7, 2020Verified
Very quick to respond and address my question. Even late at night around midnight. Looking forward to lessons.Jan 22, 2020Verified
Jeff Tarver was my cantor. His singing is spiritually uplifting and effortless. He takes time to get to know everyone and brings much life to his work. His spirituality and values show in the way he treats everyone.Dec 4, 2019
My experience has been nothing but the best. I am currently studying piano and voice from Jeff. He works fast and I'm able to feel improvement by each lesson. Awesome teacher!Dec 5, 2019
Jeff has opened the world of music to me and showed me how to make my voice my own. He teaches his lessons step by step and always allows for questions. He brings his personal experience to his lessons making everything relatable. He is patient no matter how long it takes you to progress. I look forward to each lesson and always leave with something new. He makes sure that you are taking care of your voice.Dec 4, 2019
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My lesson prices are by 30, 45, or 60 minute lessons blocks. There is a travel expense added to any lesson outside a 5 mile radius of my personal studio. Performance pricing is by the hour with added travel expense outside a 5 mile radius of my personal studio. I suggest an initial phone consultation that is always free to better understand the structure of lessons and a chance for both sides to learn more about the other. For performance, this consultation better confirms the performance is best catered to what you are looking for. All pricing details are located on my personal website - Link is under "website" on my profile.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I view all lessons as a "collaborative journey" between teacher and student. It is a top priority to understand each learning style and how age plays a role in each student's lesson structure. I work to understand the goals of each individual I work with and thereby create a structured plan to achieve these goals. In performance, I take pride in catering every element to the needs of the employer and what their vision is for their performance. I welcome emails or calls with any questions throughout either the process of lessons or performance bookings. Transparency and a free line of communication is something I value for both of these.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I received my BM in classical voice performance from Belmont University, with performance study at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and programs for continued learning through Europe. I have been fortunate to receive coaching from the Manhattan School of Music, San Francisco School of Music, Eastman School of Music, and the Juilliard School. I bring each of these experiences to both my teaching and performance.
