- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always had a passion for working with dogs and helping others. I have been training dogs for many of my younger years and I became a certified dog trainer while in college.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of my clients have a new puppy that they want to start out on the path to training success. We work on problem preventions an teaching alternative, more preferable behaviors.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Recently I met a pet parent at a local pet store that was in tears and overwhelmed by her 6 month old puppy. The dog was a new rescue but its behavior was driving everyone in the family crazy. The mom was looking for a shock collar or pinch collar to control the dog but I offered my services to her and her family. After our first lesson it was evident that the dog was not deliberately acting out but instead frustrated from being lack of communication and guidance. I worked with this family and their dogs for several weeks and helped bring peace to their troubled situation. The dog is currently behaving well and the family now knows how to communicate with their dog.
