Guitar Lessons
Wanted lessons on how to play guitar better, got those lessons coupled with a general grounding in basic music theory that is tailored to guitar, rather than the traditional method that is historically based off of piano lessons

Guitar Lessons
Prior to hiring Keith I had zero experience playing any instrument, so I was a bit apprehensive. Keith's professionalism and patience immediately put me at ease. Within 4 lessons, we've covered the elements of music, the parts of the guitar, how to tune it, how to handle it, how to play several major and minor chords, the chromatic scale, and musical notations and symbols. Each lesson builds on the last. Though I am still very much in the beginning of my journey in learning to play, I'm very thankful I found Keith and I'm very satisfied with his teaching methods.

Guitar Lessons
Keith is very knowledgable about both the guitar and music in general. Very good at pacing the lessons to the progress of the student. Very easy to work and get along with

Guitar Lessons
Came back to guitar after several year hiatus and started taking lessons with Keith. He's very personable (but not a pushover) and seems to easily know enough to further instruct someone who's already had a few years of lessons. I was worried that I would waste a lot of time and money going over material I already know, but Keith has been good about figuring out where my weaknesses are and giving me exercises that I can see immediate results from practicing.

Guitar Lessons
Amazing teacher with great insight to guitar. Knowledgeable in just about any genre and able to tailor the lesson to each individual. I started out being self taught, now I can't imagine taking lessons from anybody else.

FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Lessons are always one hour in length. Lessons range from $35/hr to $50/hr depending on skill level and lesson location. Pricing also varies depending on time of day, with peak hours being evenings from 6:00pm to 10:00pm.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?First we will discuss the student's skill level and musical background. Complete beginners are certainly welcome, and I've had many successful students who've started from a blank slate. We will then work out which days and times work for the student, and whether the student would prefer in-home lessons or lessons at my home studio in midtown. We'll then settle on a day and time for the intro lesson, and then we're off!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I come from a long line of guitarists back to my great grandfather and perhaps beyond. I began my formal music training in middle school, and I continued through high school where I became an award winning guitarist twice at festival for Marist High School's jazz program. I also received the Louis Armstrong Award, an award given to one student per graduating class. Following high school, I received my degree in Music and Recording Industry Management at MTSU, where I completed four semesters of classical theory, and an additional semester of jazz theory. Since graduation in 2005 I have worked as a guitarist for hire in many areas including weddings, musical pits, studio work, worship services, live bands, etc. I am currently the lead guitarist for the touring Carly Burruss Band. I have been teaching since 1999, and I launched Cordell Music in 2009 with the aim of providing Atlanta with premier music instruction.
