This experience happened about five years ago. At the time, I chose not to leave a public review because I wanted to address my concerns privately. I sent the owner a detailed message explaining my experience, but I never received a response. I’m sharing my experience now because I believe it’s fair to explain why I never left the favorable review I had originally intended to write. I thought I was going to leave a favorable review. Instead, I decided not to leave one at all. However, I feel it’s important to share my experience. I shared some concerns after you completed the job. You said you would come to see what my concerns were. You came back with your dad, who had more experience than you. After you and your dad left, I had the feeling that I was being ganged up on. I realize you were getting established, and that is fine, but I felt as though you brought him so my concerns would be refuted instead of heard. That didn’t feel good. I went along with it because I view myself as professional and try to act that way, so I wasn’t going to be confrontational. Since this was a paint job and I paid for the paint, all of the leftover paint should have been left with me. Given that I later had to fix my wall in the foyer, I had to try to match the paint. As a professional painter, that seemed like something that should have been automatic. Also, even though I asked you only to paint, when you or your crew saw the patch in the foyer, someone should have informed me before painting over it so I could decide whether I wanted to fix it first. I was beside myself about that. Finally, your crew was not as respectful as I expected. I had to ask on more than one occasion for them to put their masks on. I shouldn’t have had to do that. I recognize this experience was several years ago, and others have clearly had positive experiences since then. I’m sharing mine because it was my experience, and it explains why I never left the review I originally intended to write.
