Introduction: My tutoring is based on personalization and really understanding the student's needs. I begin by getting an assessment of where the student is having problems with the subject, and then I proceed with an effective session designed specifically for that student.
I'm very patient when tutoring, because I realize that each student learns at a different pace. Since I make each tutoring session unique to the student, I am comfortable and confident working with all types of students. I am experienced working with students with learning disabilities, as well as those in gifted programs. I have consistently seen my students improve in their classes and excel at standardized tests as a result of our tutoring sessions.
I graduated from Alabama School of Fine Arts High School (math and science program). I have a BS in Chemistry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a MS in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Florida. I work full time as a research scientist and tutor during my off hours.
I tutor because I love helping someone do well on a standardized exam, such as the GED or ACT, knowing that it will take them to the next level in their lives. And it's rewarding to help students improve their grades in school and see how that increases their confidence and motivation, which will carry them on to greater success in life. I enjoy the opportunity to play a role in that transformation, growth and success.
