Finding the right studio and trusting them with your recording project is often a hard decision. I have been consistently blown away by the quality work that Open Sky Studios has done for my bands. Working with Mike and Bruce has always been a calm, thorough, and joyful experience. We get work done! Period. No one watches the clock, they work fast and with precision that only comes with years of experience. If you want the biggest sounding professional grade record, go find these guys and make it happen. They have choice gear and plenty of it. A one stop shop for any type of project. Mike and Bruce are the most genuine, funny, and talented musicians/studio owners that I've had the pleasure of working with. Become friends with Open Sky Studio and have them help pull your demos, ideas, tones, and lyrics out of your head and onto a finished album.

This is Jon, from the band Drucker (reverbnation.com/drucker). We've been doing our audio recording with Mike Froedge (and his business partner Bruce Butkovich, but mostly Mike) four four years, and we wouldn't go anywhere else. Mike gets the job done, done well, and at a price that independent musicians can handle. It goes without saying that the gear and the space are prime. A couple of specifics: 1) Mike's a drummer with years of touring and recording experience as a musician. That means he understands music production from the creative side of things, and that experience comes through in the clutch. Mike hears rhythmic and music elements that we might have missed, and makes sure we get the take right before moving on. 2) Mike edits on the fly, cleaning up and selecting takes, and making sure everything's lined up. You don't understand how valuable this is until you've gone all the way through the post-production process, but an hour now saves you three hours later. Mike happens to be exceptionally good at this and it's become an integral part of our tracking process. 3) Vater the Studio Dog. He's a bassett hound, a total pal, and he lets us know when our performance isn't up to snuff.
