- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We have special summer lesson pricing, since we can be a lot more flexible with our scheduling. You will save money by coming to us, but we can also come to you for a slightly higher rate (to cover our gas and expenses). We can tutor in groups of two if you want to save even more!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our tutors continue to learn about multisensory methods, early childhood skills, and learning disabilities. We have regular tutor meetings and we share ideas with each other. Most recently, we attended the Southern Regional Conference for the International Dyslexia Association in Atlanta.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I struggled with learning challenges of my own, in handwriting and math. I was very lucky to attend a school which taught Orton-Gillingham instruction when I was young, and lucky again to receive training in teaching the method after I got my degree. Since I did not have to pay for my training, I am able to provide a lower cost than many other Orton-Gillingham tutors, and am able to "give back" to the parents who need this type of tutoring for their children.
