A technician came out to “view” the shower door that I needed installed, the hood on the oven, and the faucet for the tub. I made it clear that if the tub needed to be removed for the faucet that I did not want it done. Everything was confirmed and second appointment was made. On appointment day, the technician took more than 4 hours removing tub, again that I asked not to be removed, to installed the faucet to only then say the faucet couldn’t be installed. He then installed the hood - great job there. He rescheduled the shower door installed to the next week- the day of installation I was called numerous times to be told he couldn’t do it Today. My tub was left unsealed and I had to hire another plumber to finally install the shower door and reseal my tub. I do NOT recommend

John installed two frameless shower doors for me at my home. It was a full days work (8 hours) but he and his helper got it done. His communication was clear and appreciated. The installation went well and the shower doors look great. There was a price increase on one of the shower doors due to the complexity of installation. This change increased my cost by $75, but after he completed the first door which looked good I went ahead and had the second one done. John explained to me why the price was different and I understood. I enjoyed John in my home, he was respectful, timely, tidy and thorough. He did what he said he would do and I look forward to working with him on future projects.

Francis does not need to have access to anyone's home. His skills are not good and he is extremely slow. Thumbtack should not allow this "handyman" to try and build his clientele on their platform. He was an hour late; it took him 6 hours (1 pm-7 pm) to install the soft-close shower doors, which don't function as intended; he charged me an additional $100 for his ineptitude ($300 cash total because he didn't return my $25 in change). I had to ask him to open my bathroom door because I had no idea what he was doing inside with it closed and there was no reason for him to have it closed. He complained about having to install a shower door in a bathroom he didn't remodel. He could have easily declined the job. Instead, he left silicone-stained fingerprints all over the glass doors. He glued the water-proof flanges to the glass. It's so caked in it looks terrible; he jumped up and down inside my tub trying to prove to me it was installed incorrectly and he deliberately scratched up my wallpaper that was installed the day prior by another vendor on Thumbtack. Giving him 1-star is being generous.

Francis was very responsive and available on short notice. He showed up on time. While I initially contacted him to install a frameless glass shower door he refused to install it after assessing the situation on site given that my stall height wasn’t high enough. I ended up getting some other small repairs done: fixing a leaky sink drain, replacing a rotting bathroom fan vent cover on an exterior wall, routing and tying up flexible vent piping for a new bathroom exhaust in an attic space. I would have given him electrical work in the new bathroom as well but he doesn’t do panel work. While he was here he also gave me a good quote for patching drywall in my garage which was cut up to run plumbing for the new bathroom. He was friendly and knew his trade. I would recommend him to others.
