My nephew is taking guitar lessons from Shawn. Shawn is an accomplished musician and has the ability to pass his knowledge on to his students at their level of learning. My nephew finds his teaching to be fun, but challenging. Shawn is aware of his student's learning style and what they want to accomplish and is able to build his lessons around those needs while also teaching music theory, learning chords, etc. Highly recommend Shawn Guess as a music instructor.

I hired James Brooks as the Lead Keyboard Player for my Dance Production “Lord, Fight this Battle” that was held in Newnan, Ga. March 2015 an 4hour event with over 400 attendees. I was very amazed with his gifts and talents and the ability to come right in to skillful play along with other musicians for the very first time. James was very attentive to my vision and needs were for my production and I love the fact that he plays by hear. I was pleased with his professionalism and look forward to hiring him for future projects.

I began teaching during my college career and have a few years of experience, as well as a B.A. in piano from North Greenville University. I have worked with a variety of ages and experience levels and teach using the classical model. This means I also incorporate music theory and proper technique. I love my students and try to the best of my ability to cater each lesson to their individual needs. Please message me if you have any questions!

I teach piano. I have been playing for 34 years. I like sharing my own techniques and show how to read music. Music is fun once you learn how to play. I have also recorded three albums. I have my own studio now at my home. With music, timing is everything. Once students learn how to get the timing down, they can have the enjoyment of playing with others. I teach how to do that. I am very good at what I do.

About

I teach beginner to mid-advanced piano and voice students in the basic mechanics of their chosen field with lessons in music, theory, and performance. I have more than 16 years of experience in teaching and have worked with both individuals and groups in areas that range from individual instruction to competition, recitals, concerts, and full scale musicals. I have been a region coordinator for GISA (Georgia Independent School Association) for two years, overseeing One Act Play competitions, as well as literary events. Many of my students won in region competitions and went on to place or even win in state competitions. I have worked with K4 through 12th grade students the past six years on musical education, musical performance, chorale singing, concert performance, full-scale musicals, and individual coaching. I love working with young people and am as excited about their musical discoveries as they are. I believe learning music and appreciating it in all its forms adds a richness and depth to our character, as well as aiding in other educational pursuits. Quite simply, I love, love music!
