They quoted $950 on Thumbtack to paint my metal roof. I told him to take a look at the house and give me an estimate. He came back with $1500. When he came to the house with the quote it was $1600 because of the price of paint. I gave him $600 up front for materials. When they ran out of paint I gave them another $100, then they ran out again but this time they bought the paint, and to save me money (which I appreciated) they got paint that was less expensive. After they were done I noticed that the paint was two different shades of red. He promised that if I purchased the paint he would repaint that section of roof for me - no charge, so I bought the paint (another $100). That was 3 weeks ago. Yes, it's been raining, but for 3 weeks they promise to come repaint. When I complained he told me that he had completed the job even though the roof was two different "sheens." I took photos of the part of the roof where they used the less expensive paint. This is my $1800 paint job -- it's only been 3 weeks. well first off yes we quoted you 950 going from the pictures you sent then when we looked at it ourselves it was alot more to it. 2nd the second time we purchased 2 more 5 gallons that we provided. the only thing you gotten charged extra for was roofing tar and 7 gallons of the flat that we still haven't gotten reimbursed for that I still have receipts for and I told you we will put another coat on it for free as soon as we had time to do it. I scheduled us to be there last weekend and what happened it rained for 4 days so I pushed it to Monday (today) and once again it rained so I told you we would be there first thing in the am you decided you couldn't wait till the morning so if you're going to tell it then tell the whole story not just some. also we went above and beyond to help you. came out of my pocket to get what we needed to finish the job and yes it was two different sheen's one was semi gloss and one flat because when we went back Lowes had sold out and I told you to get it and we would put it on as soon. as we could you said you would have it the following weekend which it took you 3 weeks to get. I understand where your coming from but you have to look at it from my point also and you don't have to hire anyone else you choose to. I couldn't help it rained today and I pushed another job off tomorrow just so I was sure we could be there to get you taking care of. You text me earlier and said we had until tomorrow or you're finding someone else then 5 mins later said don't worry ill find someone else so that's you're choice.
