At the time I had no idea what I wanted to do upon graduating. - I started working with a career counselor in January 2013 and continued to do so after graduating in May 2014. - Three years later, with 30+ resume drafts and countless phone calls I was still unsatisfied with my resume. I felt like it was missing something…I later found out, it was missing Arlen’s expertise! Haha! - I wanted a resume that highlighted my educational achievements, as well as my professional experience, personality, and career goals. - It was time to hire a professional. I’m not getting any younger and the job market isn’t getting any easier. And let’s face it, it’s not easy to land a job in the wonderful world of education with no experience…even with an MBA. Moving on to Arlen… - I came across Thumbtack after searching online for professional resume writers. Within minutes I had five quotes from different professionals with diverse backgrounds. I could go on and on about Arlen. He is patient, detail-oriented, intelligent, honest, trustworthy, genuine, kind, and most importantly he REALLY CARES about his clients. This is a quality that is so hard to find these days. After spending 3 years trying to piece together that perfect resume I dreamed of, Arlen was able to do it in a few days. I was disappointed on the format of my resume. I had to spend extra money to format my document from Microsoft. Not everyone has Microsoft anymore. Ryan helped rewrite my cover letter and resume. I sent her what I had been using and she worked her wonders on it. It is amazing what a professional writer can do! Ryan did her own research on the company and specific job I was applying for and added a couple important details to make my cover letter something really special! The cover letter blew me away, moved me to tears, and made me so proud to turn in. She took what I had and omitted a couple things that I agree didn’t sound good and added quite a few really great points. My resume had some additional categories added like a mission statement at the top and a skills set list plus a volunteer category, all of which I did not think of before. I had a request to have Ryan work on this for me within one day. She worked so hard and got it all done, emailing me along the way and calling me when she finished then talking a couple more times to add her suggestions. I had a manuscript that I worked on for years. I posted it on, but it didn't get purchased often, and I edited it myself - which is likely why it didn't sell. Members of the Amazon author forums told me that i had a lot of passive voice problems throughout the manuscript. I also broke a writing rule of show-don't-tell. Yeah, I would tell, not show. I really wanted my manuscript to sell. Plus, the manuscript was about 186,000 words. So, I got in touch with Matt in Mid-December 2014. He said he'd edit my work, and he did it in around 10 days. He fixed the passive voice, show-don't tell problems I had. He also cut tens-of-thousands of unnecessary words. Another thing he did was he also took quick action scenes and trimmed them, thus making them more concise, easier and more entertaining to read. Some were also re-written, while keeping the spirit of what i originally wrote. He also told me if things didn't make sense to the storyline. I cannot express my thanks enough to him for having taken Project Timeline and editing it. It really is a different book. If you people want quality editing, you should hire him. Unlike a lot of other editors I talked with, Matt knows what he's doing.

I had the privilege of using Ms. Wright’s skills upon the editing of my book, Belief Beyond. Years passed until its completion due to the compromised integrity of the manuscript causing a rewrite twice from a recorded version of the original, which was due to previously hired editors. Unaware of the degree of Ms. Wright’s portfolio of talent, I hired her on as yet another editor. Neither my time nor hers was wasted. The quality of her work was outstanding. It’s very rare in this day and age to get above and beyond what is paid for. The writing/editing work was completed and my book was published in a timely manner. The integrity of her work, attention to detail, and the enrichment of dialogue were all attributes of her professionalism. I paid for grammar and punctuation proofing; the rest was a gift. The talents of Ms. Wright are not taught nor can one learn them, especially to the degree she possesses.
