I was really satisfied overall with my experience. Oleg was very knowledgeable, professional, courteous, he worked efficiently and explained to me exactly what had caused my oven to malfunction. He was even able to save me money by informing a discount that reduce the cost of the repair a little. As of now, I am glad that I had Oleg and Mr. V complete my repair job. I will definitely plan on looking to Mr. V in the future for any other appliance repair issues.

Let me add to the long list of happy customer reviews: Andrew is great! Smart, experienced, professional and prompt. He fixed my clothes dryer, which had started making unhappy squeaks. I found him online and all the happy reviews about him, so I thought I'd give him a try. I'm so glad I did. He would have been been out that same day, but since the dryer would still run and heat (although with noise), I said the next day would be fine. He got to my house even earlier than he expected (he called first to make sure that was OK), and within an hour of arriving he had the dryer fixed, put back together and running. I'll definitely call him for my next appliance repair. You should, too.!

Appliance EMT responded almost immediately to my project posting, and scheduled a mutually agreeable time for the following morning. Bobby, the technician, called (as promised) before he came and arrived on time. After an examination of my refrigerator's problem, he diagnosed it quickly, went over the fee of charges, and had the problem fixed in about an hour. I am very happy with their service, and have scheduled additional work to be done on other appliances.

Maurice did a great job! He came out on a Sunday! We had a leaky washer bib that had totally saturated the walls & trim. He completed the plumbing repair, replaced the drywall, cleaned up the area and took photos during and after. We have and are currently using him for other projects as well. Thanks Maurice!

The company did an excellent job. I was in the process of purchasing a new refrigerator because my 9-year-old refrigerator went out. I have a side by side stainless steel. This refrigerator would've cost thousands of dollars for a new. The technician came out and diagnose my refrigerator and replace the part the next day. Although the labor was slightly higher than anticipated. Contact was bad on my unit. I rather pay that as opposed to purchasing a new refrigerator. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

My old washer had a crack and was leaking. It was not a cheap repair so I decided to just replace the washing machine with an older machine. Due to our budget we got an older washer that is pretty basic. The washer is a little bit smaller than my old one but I can't complain. The washer is quick to wash, cleans excellent!!, and not noisy at all. It's a sharp machine and I was honestly shocked at how great it is for the price and that its older. I could not be happier about it. Thank you A-Team!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

    • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
    • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
    • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

    How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
