Can I hire someone to organize my house?

Yes, you can hire a professional home organizer to help you get your house in order.

How much do professional organizers charge?

On averages, hiring a professional home organizer costs $117, with most customers paying $75-$150. Prices can range from $50-$540 on the low-to-high end.

Many factors can drive prices up or down. Reach out to organizers near you and request a quote for a more accurate, personalized cost estimate.

How much do professional organizers charge per hour?

Organizers charge anywhere from $30-$130 per hour for their services. Most clients pay an average of $50-$60 an hour.

Do professional organizers clean?

Some professional organizers may offer cleaning services, including move-out cleaning and deep cleaning. Before you hire an organizer, ask them to provide a full list of their services, along with the price for each offering.

Why should I hire a professional organizer?

Here are a few reasons why you should hire a professional organizer for your home or office:

  • They have the skills and experience to organize your home.
  • They can teach you how to become a better organizer.
  • If you don’t have free time, they can organize your home quicker than you.

When they’re done organizing and decluttering your home, you may feel a sense of relief and less overwhelmed.

What is the fastest way to purge clutter?

The fastest way to purge clutter is to hire a junk removal service — especially if you have big or many items you need to get rid of. By hiring a junk removal company on Thumbtack, you can schedule a day and time for them to pick up all of your clutter.

How much will it cost to remodel my house?

The cost to remodel a home is highly variable — size and scope of the project, quality of materials, and the number of subcontractors required to complete the job all affect the total cost. The average national cost of a home renovation project is $13,500. The national average per-square-foot cost of a remodel ranges from $25 to $100. Nationally, kitchen and bathroom remodels are the most popular types of projects, in part because they typically have the highest return on investment when the home is sold. The national average cost of a major kitchen remodel ranges from $25,000 to $62,000, while the average bathroom remodel tends to cost $6,000 to $18,000. In addition to materials and labor costs, many remodeling project costs include permit fees, which, average $900 or more, depending on your location.

Do I need a contractor for a kitchen remodel?

A kitchen remodel is one of the most important investments you can make in your home, and it’s critical to get the details right; that’s where a home renovation contractor comes in. A minor remodel usually includes new cabinet faces and hardware, replacement appliances, and paint, while an extensive job may enlarge the kitchen’s square footage, install new cabinets or an island, change the layout, and lay new tile or hardwood floors. Any renovation that includes filing permits, construction, or electrical or plumbing work is best completed by an experienced contractor who knows local codes.

Why should you hire a contractor?

Hiring a general contractor is a good idea for many remodeling projects. Home renovation contractors have a broad range of skills to manage, coordinate and complete a project. They should help make sure your project comes in on time and within your budget as they hire and supervise all the necessary subcontractors, including electricians and plumbers. They also handle procuring all the materials required for your job. Some homeowners look to save money by acting as their own contractor, but an experienced home renovation contractor is worth the cost. They should know local building codes, be able to pull all necessary permits, and work with inspectors to make sure the construction meets local codes. Also, because they get professional discounts, they can typically buy materials at a better price than you can; better prices on materials and labor save you money, and make up for at least a percentage of the cost of the contractor.

When should you hire a contractor?

A few home remodeling projects can be done by an ambitious DIY-minded homeowner or local handyman, but many are best completed by a professional home renovation contractor. You should hire a contractor when you’re planning a large project that takes time, machinery or large tools, and several workers; a kitchen remodel, new bathroom or home addition will be most successful with a licensed, expert contractor at the helm. It’s particularly important to have a professional contractor on board for construction, electrical, plumbing and HVAC projects that require inspections to meet local building codes. Of course, you can hire a contractor for smaller projects, too, if you prefer to let an expert handle things like addition or removal of a wall, small framing projects, or anything that requires a permit.

You should hire a contractor when you’re ready to start a remodeling project and you have plans, a budget and a timeline for the work in hand, but before any remodeling work begins.

Over several sessions with Erin, she helped me organize all my closets, which was much needed due to my over- full closets and handbag obsession! During my sessions with Erin, she removed everything from my closets and helped me sort my belongings into three piles: keep, donate, or gift to family and friends. The process was absolutely draining, but Erin made it so much fun and the time flew by. We laughed at the number of handbags and clothing that I own so It helped that Erin had a great sense of humor- totally necessary when you're staring at piles upon piles of clothing and accessories all over your closets. Erin recommended many smart organizing solutions to make the most of my closet space. I’m so pleased with finished product at my house! I highly recommend Erin for your organizing needs- she’ll do a great job for you!!

Meet Michelle and Order in the closet. Michelle is everything you need to get your closet/Pantry work done. She is professional, super responsive and overall a very pleasant personality and on top of everything she is an expert in her work. Her company was able to quickly respond to our request and get a consultation scheduled over the weekend. She took time to understand our needs and modify the plan a couple of times. Was able to get the work scheduled on a weekend again. The folks who came to our house for the actual installation were equally good and did a great job. They were on time, moved fast and finished the job on time. We are in love with our closet and pantry. Michelle is a 5 star professional for sure. Thank You.

Changing my prior review on what happened on a recurring visit. Ximena suggested her friend to help clean my cabinets. Ana was brought to me as her roommate. And the end of the cleaning the following items were stolen from my house iPhone SE, Apple Pencil and Apple Watch. These were all disconnected from my Apple ID to send as gifts for Christmas and was removed. Please be very careful before engaging with any services here.

My closet project was left incomplete by my previous contractor. I had to get it fixed within 2 days after waiting for 2-3 weeks for the actual contractor to return as I had guests visiting. Stephen was very accommodative and willing to help in such short notice. I am thankful for that. Coming to work, Stephen explained why he couldn’t fix the closet to completion and I am glas he did, coz I didn’t want ending up in something that would not fit in the original design and mismatch of materials used. As closets are something that cannot be re-done again and again. But he did finish the painting as requested and also installed extra shelving in my laundry as discussed. I am happy with the transformed laundry that too with no materials cost. Stephen suggested repurposing the wire racks and I am, again, glad I choose to proceed with that option. I just needed extra storage in laundry room nothing fancy. I am looking forward to his availability in working on couple of other projects around my home. Thank you Stephen.

I have been working with Michele from Order in the Closet for a couple of weeks so far, and I could not be more thrilled. She really had her work cut out for her, as I needed the garage as well as the whole inside of my 4/2.5 house purged and organized. We tackled the garage first, and here are our results from one day! We are currently working on the inside, and it's going to take a while, but time flies with Michele. She's fun and energetic, and never judges, no matter what mayhem you have in your house (and I tested that). I never knew how wonderful it would feel to walk in to such a sane and organized space - and purging is so therapeutic for me too! You should definitely hire Order in the Closet...right after she's done with my house.
