FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I'm a natural born Artist. Therefore, it is in me a natural urge to be creative and express myself through colors, shapes, and forms. I got started painting murals because people in my community knew about my artistic skills and called me to paint a mural. When I painted my first mural at my Daughter's school, 1999, it was very excited for me and from that moment on, I decided to become a muralist.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I get calls to paint portraits and murals with my surrealistic style from many individual and corporations; such as CocaCola, Elementary schools and churches.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Besides being a fine art Artist/ Muralist and I also involve on art events, curating shows and art exhibits. In addition, I'm also founder of the only Latin American Art group in Atlanta, "Contrapunto." CONTRAPUNTO is a group of Latino Visual Artists living and working in Atlanta and the surrounding areas for the past four years. The group was started by Venezuelan Surrealist Painter Carlos Solis. The current members are Peruvian Surrealist Abstraction Painter Pedro Fuertes, Abstract Mexican Painter Jorge Arcos, Dora Lopez, Venezuelan Tropical Pop Artist Stanley Bermudez and Carlos Solis. One of the main missions of our group is to expose people in Georgia to the diversity and talent of Latin Artists. We also try to exhibit as a group at a variety of venues such as galleries and art centers as well as our own individual solo efforts. In many of our shows we sometimes include guest Latino artists and during our opening receptions try to include typical food and music from the different countries represented.
