FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When taking on new clients, we love to ensure that we are a perfect fit as client and MUA. We ask a number of questions in either your phone or in person consultation to be sure we are a thorough fit for the job and ensure availability. Once we've determined we are open and your job fits our desired preferences: - We will respond with a request for your contact information to schedue a phone consultation - On your phone consultation, we will discuss your makeup desires, event location/type and whether you will come to us or us to you. We will also be sure to confirm how many people need makeup so that we can be sure our quote is accurate. - Once we've given you a final quote based on all factors, we will send over an invoice allowing you to satisfy 50% of your payment securely. - Once your invoice is paid, you will receive a confirmation mail confirming all the aforementioned details of your event. From there, we simply await the chance to meet you and doll you up!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
While I started off as an ill skilled, self taught artist, I have taken the time to invest in Master Classes and seminars, both paid and unpaid to grow my skill and my business. Each opportunity has given me a deeper understanding of color theory, blending methods and high end techniques/ tools that give me the skill and confidence to perfect each human canvas I touch. I am currently training under Tiyana Robinson and have taken the time to study other greats like Sam Fine, Bobbi Brown, Kevyn Aucoin and Hana Ali to name a few. I've been to makeup workshops and seminars from DC to Orlando and everywhere in between! Makeup is more than just a job for me...it's my deepest passion.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
business. I love to tell my WHOLE "$20 and a Dream" story...ASK ME! In short, I started my career out of a budding love for makeup back in 2013. I was in a really rough position in my life and makeup was the perfect outlet for self expression. I had lost my job, moved states and got down to my last $20 of savings. I knew I wanted to start a makeup career but I had no idea how! I took my last $20 and went to my local dollar store. I purchased as much makeup as $20 could buy and went home and practiced like a maniac. Within months, I began booking a client here and a client there and these small wins gave me the motivation to set big goals. I wanted to do weddings and have my name in credits on tv and I worked tirelessly until I was a go-to artist for these very things. Looking back now, it's hard to imagine my humble beginnings because I've come so far. To date, I've landed contracts with NBC and Fox and been a makeup artist for too many weddings to count! It became apparent that I'd need help in 2019 so I hired help and found not just a business partner, but a sister in my co-MUA Alexis (Lex). I couldn't be more blessed to find someone who believed in my dream just as hard as me and watching her career take off brings me so much joy. No matter how many events we do, we are so humbled and blessed for each opportunity to make someone look and feel their best. Our passion, experience and skill is apparent in every face we touch and we would love to be your glam squad.
