Wow. I'm so impressed with Virgil. I hired him for junk removal and he went beyond my expectations. He was prompt, super nice, and probably the hardest worker I've seen. I will hire him again!

Randy did a great job painting the front door which was very weathered and painted some spots on the trim near the second story roof. He also put a faux shutter back on where the screw had been broken off.

I hired Ben to rebuild and paint my rotting colums on my front porch then paint my front door and trim. He is punctual, keeps true to his deadlines, transparent in cost, keeps open line of communication and delivered on the job that I opened up a bid for on thumbtack.

Jeremy removed our existing backsplash and installed a new backsplash for our new home last week. We signed him up over a weekend, and he was at our doorstep on a Monday morning ready to start the work and, most importantly, was complete by Wednesday! He did an absolutely incredible job that involved not only demolition and tile installation, but also electrical (changed our receptacles and switches) and plumbing (relocated a plumbing line for our pot sink located in a wall under the our exhaust hood). He also protected our surrounding kitchen with ramboard on the countertops and plastic protection over the door ways and cabinetry. I have already recommended him to coworkers! He is a treat to work with, priced well, and did exceptional work!

If you need help or just want someone else to complete that “Honey-Do” list – Call Mark! I highly recommend Mark Knobel for your home improvements & repairs. He is responsible, courteous and does an excellent job! He’s a bit old-fashioned; he shows up, does it right the first time or explains the potential limitations/benefits re how a repair can be done as a short-term or long-lasting fix. With a work history in aircraft machinery, Mark can do many more things than most. Over the years, Mark has completed many ‘fix-it’ items for us: garage door maintenance, wood fence and gate latch fixes, sealing leaky windows, doors, roof and pipes and even concrete irrigation canal repair. Mark has removed and then installed a new water heater, garbage disposal, dishwasher, kitchen and bath countertops, several sinks, faucets, toilets, rain gutters, numerous doors, hinges, locks including punch pad-style deadlocks. He has added, attic stairs to a ten-foot ceiling, additional blown-in attic insulation, window shades and re-shingled our entire roof. In addition to small tasks, Marc has helped make our house more beautiful; doing an amazing job with larger-scale home improvement projects including interior/exterior painting and installing solid hardwood floor with beautiful wood trim. Most recently, Mark converted a basic outdoor shed into a fabulous work space. I now have a warm and inviting Studio! Mark added insulation, air conditioning, a sink, ceiling lights, beautiful cedar walls & ceiling with Mahogany wood trim, extra porch lighting and an electrical outlet on each wall.

I am a young professional who is in a wheelchair. I bought a single story foreclosed 1,600 sq. ft. house in midtown and contracted with Jill and David Ellis to remodel it and make it handicap accessible. They leveled an uneven cement floor, installed a new Mahogany wooden floor throughout the house, installed new appliances, and remodeled the master bathroom out of marble. Jill set it up so that I can roll myself into my shower stall and take a full shower while remaining in my wheelchair the entire time. I wanted my backyard fenced for security and instead of buying the preassemble thin board units they used pressured treated decking boards and built a custom fence that looks great and you can not easily scale it. They even attached carpet strips across the inside of the top so that if someone did try to climb over it their hands would be cutup by the carpet tacks embedded in those strips. Instead of just installing a new front door with the standard short screws that the prefab unites come with, they removed the those short screws and replaced them with 3 inch long screws so that the hinges were secured to into the actual frame of the house. The lock hardware was removed and they installed a 3-foot strip with correct cutouts for the door to latch and the deadbolt to sink into. This 3’ strip they too secured into the frame of the house again with 3-inch screws. The install was tested a few weeks later as I came home one night to find that someone had attempted to kick in the door. They put some effort into but the door did not fail. The police had to use a Jaws of Life rig to pry open the damaged door. I contacted them the day after this happened and they came and immediately installed me a new door. Clearly I think highly of their work. Great Job Jill and Dave!
