Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. I work with clients from all walks of life, helping them improve their lives by working directly with the biggest part of their brain - the subconscious mind! Hypnosis or hypnotherapy allows me to work with my clients to make deep seated changes that last. Whether they want to lose some weight, be more confident at work, release a little stress, or complete a marathon in better time, I can help.
I also do life coaching using a proven system called the Perfect Enough Life Coaching System. It takes a minimum of 6 sessions to get through this coaching process, and many clients go on to additional sessions because their lives improve dramatically.
Q. Describe three recent jobs you've completed.
A. I helped one gentleman improve his guitar prowess. He came to me because his hands were cramping, and he is now able to play longer, faster, and finds remembering solos easy. He also finds that when playing original improvisation music, he is more melodic.
A woman in her 40's asked me to help her with procrastination. She was a little leery of hypnosis, but relaxed into it and said she felt great after the sessions. I saw her recently and she said she no longer looks for reasons to avoid projects that need to be done. She now realizes on a deep level that the sooner she starts, the sooner she can do something she wants to do!
I helped one woman stick to a healthy program to shed weight. The last time I saw her, she was still eating healthy and looked great!
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Make sure that the person you hire is certified by a national organization like the National Guild of Hypnotists. The NGH has a very solid code of ethics that their members must follow.
It is hard to ask for references because many people do not want to share personal information about seeing a hypnotherapist, so follow your gut as well. If for any reason you feel uncomfortable about the person or their office situation, let them know.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. Hypnosis is a wonderful tool, and there are many wonderful practitioners around the world. There are also many methods used in hypnosis. I have been involved with hypnotherapy since 2002, and the method I use allows my clients to release past hurts and fears quickly and easily, and make deep and lasting change. Many methods spend the majority of the client's time in the chair doing relaxation, whereas I go to work immediately. Also, each client is different, and I tailor each session to the client's needs.
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. Hypnosis has been portrayed by Hollywood as a dark and manipulative art, and this is so far from the truth! In the past much of a hypnotist's time was spent defending their practice. Thankfully, in the past few years major educational institutes, such as Harvard Medical, Stamford, and others have started publishing the results of hypnosis trials. Patients heal faster and with less pain and scarring when hypnosis is used before and after the surgery. Dental patients stop grinding their teeth. The stories go on and on. Check it out for yourself! And then call for an appointment.
