FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge per visit and can come the number of times per day that you wish. The fee is dependent upon the number of animals. To dispense medication, I charge $5.00 more per day per pet receiving medication. Your pets are able to stay in their familiar surroundings without issues from other animals, noise and discomfort at boarding places. I strongly believe this is critical to the pet's mental and physical well being.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I come to meet the pets when I'm hired, and have the pet owner show me where supplies are kept, each pet's individual needs and likes, and let the pets get to know me a bit. Then when I enter their home without the homeowner present, I am not a stranger. I will get a key or be told where a key will be left or an entry code. I require the pet's vet contact/location information in the event of an emergency. I typically text photos of the pets to the pet owner half way through their trip.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I grew up with mice, rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, dogs, cats, horses. I helped wild animals when buildings have been torn down and racoon babies were left behind and a skunk when the mother died. Once they were strong enough and old enough to care for themselves they were released into the wild with food put out until they stopped coming for it. I have no fear of any creature including rodents, reptiles, insects or arachnids. I understand farm animals and am willing to care for any creature warm or cold-blooded.
