About
Hi, I’m Jamel Porter, a dual-certified Exercise Physiologist specializing in health and exercise rehabilitation, health and wellness coaching, and personal training. I work with individuals managing chronic medical conditions, injuries, and disabilities, using exercise as medicine for prevention and long-term management. The population I can serve includes post physical therapy, post, cardiac rehab, functional deconditioning, cardiometabolic deconditioning, etc.
I hold a Master’s degree in health and exercise rehabilitation from Calvin University and national Exercise Physiologist certifications from both the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Society for Exercise Physiologists. With a strong background in clinical exercise physiology and human performance, I design evidence-based, technology-supported programs tailored to your needs.
My current services focus on supervised performance training and movement optimization. I’ve been in health and wellness for about 10 years and strive to make every session fun, engaging, and empowering.

I honestly enjoyed working with Jay!!! He makes workouts so fun and positive!!! He honestly cares more about you, the client, then the money and his constant communication and work ethic shows that!!! He loves to work with a challenge and is very adaptable when it comes to custom workouts for peoplelike me who has limited mobility because of my injuries. You won't regret working with him!!!

Jamal always took an interest in my overall health. When I was injured, he modified our workouts so that I could still feel like I had a workout without hurting my injury more. I would recommend him for anyone who wants a trainer that cares for you and will work you.

He was the second trainer I had gotten within the month of signing up and he really made the time and effort I put in worth it. Was not just a good trainer, but also a friend of mine.

I have been training with Jamel for 3 months now and he has been nothing but supportive of me on my fitness journey. He really puts the “personal” in personal training which makes the workouts so much more enjoyable. He is quick to respond to any questions I have outside of our training period. Jamel has been very adaptive to my school schedule and when I travel to see my family we do our session virtually, which has been great because if I stop working out for a while it takes a lot to get me back to it, so the virtual training means I don’t need to worry about any long breaks of not working out just because of my location. Just over the course of these past three months I have seen great results and I am very excited to continue working with Jamel.
