FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I am a Allied member of American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and every year I have to take a number of classes to stay certified and keep up with the new design trends!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Growing up I loved to move my furniture around, buy new accessories, change paint colors, and change any and everything my parents would let me. I had an eye for art and design. When I was in High School my AP Art teacher saw this and advised me to apply for the Interior Design program at Auburn University. I was accepted with 19 other girls who had a passion for making houses, homes! I loved everything I learned in school from selecting the perfect colors to making sure it was ADA accessible and a safe space!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure they have an accredited Interior Design degree. In addition to being able to "decorate" spaces, licensed Interior Designers know AutoCAD, building codes, egress, ADA, etc; and they are governed by the state of Georgia.
