Said he'd call 2 days before move to confirm. Did not call. Tried to get in touch with him day before move and he did not answer phone or messages. I had to find another moving company at the last minute.
2/14/2024 Update.
There was no mention of a deposit. He quoted me a price, confirmed the date and time and said he'd call two days before. He presented no options for paying a deposit either - no address to send a check, no website or phone number to submit payment and did not verbally take payment himself. It there was actually a deposit required then why wasn't I given the option to make one? I was ecstatic I found someone who wasn't going to charge way too much and if a deposit would have been required I would have happily paid it to lock in the price he quoted.
No deposit also doesn't explain why he didn't call, didn't answer his phone all day, didn't return my voicemails or respond to my message on Thumbtack and why his reply to this review 8 months later is the first I've heard from him since he said he'd move me April 14th 2023. Is a deposit required to tell someone you aren't coming or apologize to someone for hanging them out to dry?
Not doing what you say and ghosting customers for a year is a bad look for a business. Responding to their reviews with a story that is a lie with huge holes in it is even worse.
