I've been taking lessons with Mike for a little over a year. He's a gifted teacher in that he really listens not only to what you play, but what you say. He understands that none of us have as much time to practice as we'd like. I thought if I would only learn a few songs. I've actually learned a lot of songs! Now I'm working on lead guitar with Mike. Whether you've played before or always wanted to. Mike is a great guy to learn with.

I'm a fresh college graduate from Cornell College, majoring in economics and business, and minoring in music. Even though my main focus during college was economics, I have always had a huge interest in music especially in piano. I've been playing the piano for 12 years, and also singing a little bit in Cornell College's Choir. I took various courses in music theory, music history, and studio piano lessons. I have great understanding and patience for children and would love to work with the young customers to help them get acquainted to music and piano in particular.

Coaching has always been a natural thing for me. I can get my students from novice to proficient in a short amount of time with my method of tailoring to each student. I believe that people learn to speak a language before they learn to write it, and I take that approach to teaching.

I play the piano pretty often, and even though I am not a piano major student, I still managed a lot of piano playing skills, principles and thoughts of music. I wish I can teach all-age piano lovers and entry-level and middle-level populations.
