FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I believe everyone deserves access to elite personal training without being nickeled and dimed. At GoldenTrainer, there are no surprise fees or pushy upsells — just transparent pricing based on your training needs. Session packages are available at a better rate than single sessions, and I offer one-time consultation programs for clients who want a fully custom plan to follow on their own. Supplements are sold at guaranteed wholesale prices daily — often cheaper than anything you'll find at a local retailer. Reach out and I'll give you exact pricing based on your goals and schedule. First conversation is always free.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Simple process, powerful results: Free consultation — we talk about your goals, history, and what hasn't worked before Custom program design — I build a workout and nutrition plan around YOUR body and YOUR life Private training sessions — just you and me, fully focused, zero distractions Ongoing adjustment — I track your progress and fine-tune your program as you improve Direct access — you can reach me outside sessions for nutrition questions, adjustments, or accountability No guesswork. No generic plans. Just a clear path from where you are to where you want to be.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) — widely considered the most rigorous and respected certification in the personal training industry. Unlike basic personal training certifications that can be obtained in a weekend, the CSCS requires a four-year college degree and passing a comprehensive exam covering exercise science, program design, testing and evaluation, and nutrition. I earned my degree from Iowa State University and have been applying that education in real-world training environments in Cedar Rapids since 2005 — nearly 20 years of hands-on experience working with clients of all ages, fitness levels, and backgrounds. I stay current with continuing education requirements to maintain my CSCS certification, ensuring my clients always benefit from the latest evidence-based training and nutrition practices.
