Introduction: I am a very experienced piano teacher, who teaches all levels including collegiate. I have a bachelor and master's degrees in piano performance from the Eastman School of Music. Also, I am a former Fullbright scholar to the Royal Academy of Music, London. I have twenty-five years of experience in teaching overseas, mostly in Asia. I encourage my students to play in festivals and local competitions. I have also been a music judge in Southeast Asia, Washingon State, Oregon, Idaho, Indiana, and Oklahoma. I record my students' playing for self-evaluation, but all in all, I'm a pretty old-fashioned piano teacher! I like people. I like kids. I enjoy teaching adults who want to pick up where they left off in high school, and I would love to meet prospective students and their parents.

Over the years, Mrs. Brugger provided an intensive and rigorous piano education for our daughter who continues to enjoy playing piano in college. Mrs. Brugger cares deeply about music and she transfers that passion to her students.

My son had an excellent time with Halimah Brugger. He started learning with her at the age of 6 and is now in university. Halimah motivated him in his worst times when he wanted to quit playing! She constantly improved his skills and helped him eventually win competitions. However, Halimah was just there as a mentor for my son; it was my son who was internally interested, but Halimah did a great job of motivating my son. I would highly recommend learning under Halimah Brugger.

Our daughter took weekly piano lessons from Mrs. Brugger for about six years. Mrs. Brugger required participation in festivals, so her students were motivated to work hard on their pieces. She was kind, but demanding. Our daughter respected Mrs. Brugger for her musical knowledge, and saw her as a friend as well. During recitals, Mrs. Brugger took time to say personal things about her students, and made them all feel good about their efforts. I would recommend her as a piano teacher for all levels and I make this recommendation without reservtion.

Not only was she my daughter's piano teacher but she was also a mentor. From her first lesson, Mrs. Brugger began to shape Sarah musically and also taught her how to listen and interpret music before simply playing and also garnered her love of music she still has today. Thank you Mrs. Brugger!

I have had the opportunity to work with Halimah in the local music community, and appreciate her professionalism in all settings and particularly her dedication to the furthering of musical opportunities for many students. In addition, my own son loved taking piano lessons from Halimah. Along with her expertise in all areas of piano pedagogy, she inspired him to practice well, to reach a little further and to simply enjoy music. She cared about him as an individual, and he readily recognized that.
