FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My photography is full service. I do events, weddings, and senior portraits. My specialty, however, is family photography. These include maternity and newborn shoots, infants and children, engaged couples, and families. As a mom to three children, I love capturing moments that will bring back memories years from now. The most common types of jobs I do are candid or photojournalistic shots of children. This is where I started in my photography career, and this is my first love. I endeavor to capture children "as they are" - doing the things that they love to do - as they simply don't stay that way long enough.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Quality: You want a photographer that takes clean, crisp photos that are properly exposed, present natural (not digitized) color, are not blurry or pixelated, and catch your image in flattering light and angles. Most of all, you want a photographer who is consistent. If you want to know the true worth of a photographer, ask the photographer to show you a couple of full session galleries. While most photographers do not display full galleries on their site to protect the privacy of their subjects, most can show you a couple of galleries that will display the consistency of their work. Are one or two of the photos good, or is does the gallery represent a collection of photos you would like to receive after your session is completed? Style: Are you looking for a classic style that you might find at a department store or in your high school yearbook (traditional/glamor), or are you looking for a photographer that captures you in candid moments with real, unposed smiles (candid/lifestyle/photojournalistic)? For example, I use a photojournalistic style that tries to capture intimate moments in my subjects. I use natural lights when I can and avoid props and fake backgrounds. Find a photographer that fits your style. Price: Price should be your last concern. Would you rather have a few images that are exactly what you need or 100 useless images? Most of us dont plaster our homes or photo albums with hundreds of images. Quantity does not equal quality. High quality photographers will offer mini-sessions or off-season sessions to meet the need of most any budget. Simply ask.
