I have a fairly high bar for work. I own several properties but keep them immaculate. I had two windows that, in 1943 Georgian, for some reason, were original. Leaky and drafty, but also, I know why they were never updated. They were highly custom sizes. I talked to many windows and door companies that wanted nothing to do with me unless I was redoing the whole house. A no. 1 Glass and Screen Repair was a totally different story. At first, I didn't know what to expect. They came and measured within a day. Oddly, I thought the customer service was too good. :) Saying this, no pushy salespeople trying to upsell me to more windows or different ones. I knew what I wanted, and they followed through without question. I gave a deposit, which is standard, but it was two windows, and I thought the risk was worth it to find a good window company. Given it was custom, they said end of August for installation. I was fine with it but also said: "Hey, if it comes earlier, please let me know." On July 30th, they contact me and are ready to go on August 1st if I'm available. I said yes - Awesome. Guys show up in a 'real' truck (then proving this wasn't a single dude hocking windows) and got to work. 2 hours later, it's done, and AMAZING. Pictures are attached. This work was not easy. I know this mostly because I know how to do windows, and this old window was a weird setup with lots of messy problems. I expected to have to do molding and trim work after they left. (And I STILL would have left a glowing review). But Nope. They did it all - inside and out. The finished product inside and out. Stunning. All I need to do is some paint on the new trim, but they even used pre-primed trim. AMAZING!!!!! The house inside and out was SUPER clean when it was done. I work with a lot of contractors regularly. Most are bare minimum folk to get the check. A no. 1 Glass and Screen repair are my window folk from here on out. Seriously. They just do good work and will work with smaller projects. I want people to understand something about contracting. Being a contractor and accepting small work in any trade is super admirable. It's getting harder to find, given big work is fast cash. (Which is sad given there is a ton of small work). Someone like A no. 1 Glass and Screen repair is, of course, in this to make a living, but they are also choosing to serve the community. A lot of contractors are not in the same game. Excellent quality, excellent service, and what I think are fair prices for complex work - a total win-win. Call them and use them. You will not regret it.

Jimmy was very quick to respond, get out there and give me an estimate. He also took the time to look at the other windows and noted that one needed a new seal. He was great to work with, very responsive, very professional. I'd hire him again!
