FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$40 per hour which can be divided or utilized in various ways. I have many adult students whom do an $80 2 hour lesson every other week, while I do weekly 30 minute lessons for $20 a piece. I am so confident in students coming back for lessons, that I do not force students to pay for months at a time.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The process is a negotiation. Goals need to be established by the client and it is my responsibility to set smaller milestones and tasks to help them meet their ultimate goal. The milestones generally use more canonical lesson tasks; fretboard harmonization, reading staff, performing simpler songs by ear, scales and arpeggio rudiments, and any other things to help nurture the required skills.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors and Masters degree in Guitar Performance, but more importantly have professional experiences throughout playing and teaching that are wider spread than most. When a player receives all of their money from one kind of work, they become biased towards that because it serves as a definition of success. Having been paid for by work in bands, solo, orchestras, choir accompaniment, jazz combos, etc. I have a wider definition of what can make a student successful.
