Lisa, as we have known Elizabeth is not only an amazing teacher but also a great mentor to her students. Our daughter had been a student of her for many years and loved her dearly. She was her teacher, mentor and also her big sister. Lisa helped her become a great piano player, gave her the confidence to perform flawlessly during many recitals and even got our daughter through many national exams with excellent grades. Every time we hear our daughter play the piano we think of Lisa and feel very grateful to her as a teacher. Keep up the great work Lisa, we hope you will continue your wonderful work and bring joy to many more students in the future. Best of luck for a bright future. With warm wishes, parents of Jivana.

Dr. Churchya is probably the best teacher I have ever (out of all the academic and arts teachers I had combined). I learned so much from her for nearly 10 years. She is very patient and encouraging and her soft, but persistent pushing has sculpted me into the pianist and person I am today. On days that I would be grumpy because of mean people at school, she would be patient with me when I got frustrated during a lesson. On days that I was super happy, she would celebrate with me! She learned how I learned best, and implemented that into our lessons so that I could perform better. As a result, I have gotten phenomenal results in my music career. Dr. Churchya always listens to what her students have to say, and use such feedback so she can be a better teacher to them as well. As a young student, I always looked up to Dr. Churchya, the piano teacher who did it all and taught others while being piled with schoolwork in university; she is hard-working and devoted to her work. She is a role model, not only for her phenomenal pianist skills and expert knowledge in music, but also for who she is as a person. Knowing that her lifestyle and morals were always set on supporting others and wanting to make the world a better place always comforted me as well. She is very understanding of everyone's situation and makes the most out of every opportunity. If you follow her advice, and if you put in the work, Dr. Churchya will help you become a stunning pianist and support you with all other ambitions as well.

Elizabeth has motivated and inspired my (now) 13 year old son to practice and make progress on the piano, without me even asking him to most of the time. She provides a curriculum that he can master but that also keeps him challenged and achieving new skills with new levels. She is creative with teaching and explores extracurricular activities at times (like the Royal Conservatory of Music on line program, the Asheville Piano Competition, recitals, etc) to vary the activities and to experience other perspectives. She has developed an important teacher/student relationship with my son in which she perfectly melds the right amount of pressure with the right amount of fun.

Lisa was my piano teacher for almost five years at the Lexington School of Music. She really helped me become a better pianist and I hope I can have the opportunity to play piano with her again someday.

My daughter was a student of Elizabeth for 6 years. She is a very good teacher, and my daughter loves her very much. My daughter did the RCM certificate of piano Exams up to level 6 and scored distinction and state 1 all the time. We were lucky to have such a lovely, talented teacher for daughter.
Elizabeth Churchya Piano Studio's reply
Thank you so much! It was a highlight of my week to work with her throughout the years. I recall how confidently and expressively she played in the RCM Celebration of Excellence Recital.
