About
I am a Harvard-trained Ph.D. in clinical psychology. As a Ph.D., I have published numerous articles and book chapters. I have been asked to speak at conferences around the world. Additionally, I worked for years in journalism, at the White House Press Office and on multiple presidential campaigns. I have also worked as a therapist for nearly 10 years. As a result, I am very good at helping people develop and tell their story. I believe that the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves are the key to how we feel and what we achieve. I have exceptional coaching, writing, and public speaking skills, which I hope to use to assist you.
My training has allowed me to help numerous people improve their personal and professional confidence. I have worked with clients on a range of issues from: gaining confidence in the workplace to better managing stress to developing the courage necessary to ask for the things they want and deserve. My clients have come from all walks of life and include: nuclear engineers, laboratory technicians, doctors, teachers, mental health professionals, and graduate students. Julia is a very experienced, knowledgeable, direct, and attuned professional who was very easy to connect to from the first moment we talked. After spending several years away from the nuclear power industry working in research administration and operations, Julia really helped me develop and focus my story, my resume, and my interview talking points. She not only helped me create a concise narrative for employers, but her advice helped me better understand what I wanted and where I wanted to go. It was a lot more than just a resume or a cover letter, but a lesson in how to understand my interests and market my talent the way I wanted it to be heard -- and also get the job!

Having worked at the same place of employment for 15 years, I hadn't been on an actual interview since the world was preparing for the millennium change. Needless to say, I was rusty, nervous, and pretty certain I was headed for an interview disaster. I know that I'm talented, intelligent and experienced, however how exactly do I get that across to potential employers? How do I make myself stand out from the other candidates and be memorable? How do I build confidence? These were questions that needed immediate answers and Julia provided me with honest feedback, a course of action to build the confidence to highlight my skills and experience, and her time to mock interview with me to prepare for the big one.
