Hey there! I'm a jazz and contemporary vocalist here in Chicago, with 10+ years of experience as a performer, bandleader, and arranger. I'm available for all kinds of events, but I especially love playing for cocktail hours, smaller/DIY wedding receptions, wedding ceremonies, and marriage proposals. I really enjoy working with clients to find songs and artists they love to make their event unique and extra special! I have a master's degree in jazz and know 200+ jazz standards, but I also love playing 60's pop and motown, folk and country, and classic pop tunes. I've played public and private events around Chicago at venues like The Allis at Soho House, The Drake, Palmer House, Union League Club, The Field Museum, Chicago Botanic Garden, Gibsons, Chicago Firehouse, and more. My pricing varies depending on the season, day of the week, travel distance, instrumentation/number of musicians etc., but please contact me for more info on pricing. I can offer up to a quintet (voice, guitar or piano, bass, drums, sax or trumpet), but I most commonly perform in a duo or trio setting (voice with guitar and/or upright bass). Kathryn and Josh were absolutely wonderful. I booked Kathryn to play for my surprise engagement. She was very responsive from the beginning. My goal was to surprise my girlfriend (now fiance) for the engagement. The plan was tricky, but Kathryn made the process very simple. She initially provided a list of songs that she is comfortable with playing which included folk, indie, country, pop and more. She has an awesome selection of 60s Motown, Jazz and some originals (one of which she played). There were a few songs that were special to my fiance that I requested for her to play. Even with one week notice, Kathryn and Josh played the songs masterfully. She was also very accommodating. Our plan was to have her and Josh set up in my apartment complex while we were out to eat. In the interim, she was very prompt with messaging to make sure things were set up and played on queue. She was able to work with whatever situation I provided (indoors/outdoors, timing of events, etc.). They were even able to adjust the volume of their sound when I popped the question. Most importantly, the music was very lovely. Having them play shortly after proposing made for such a memorable experience that I will treasure forever. I cannot express how AMAZING Kathryn and her band were at our wedding! It was the first thing our guests commented to me on: "Where did you find her?!" "She has an amazing voice!" Kathryn has a long repertoire list that is packed with songs of many genres. She also worked with us to incorporate any songs we wanted which weren't on the original list. She and her guitarist provided beautiful background music during our lunch and cocktails, and more danceable selections later on. Their music was such an important part of our event and I would hire her again in a second!

What types of customers have you worked with?
I perform frequently as part of a duo/trio/quartet/quintet (the size of the group is dependent on the size of the venue and the client's specific needs) at clubs, restaurants, wineries, weddings, and private events. I have a large book of jazz standards, but I also perform in the indie/folk/country and pop genres. I teach voice and piano lessons to all ages & skill levels, but I prefer to teach older (high school and above) students. I also have skills in music transcription and arranging and am available for this type of work, as well.
