Anna of EventCraftery is a Chicago Event Planner. Blessed with equal parts "right brain" and "left brain", I'm a double threat who can come up with innovative ideas, and then turn them into reality! Whether you need to plan a fun theme party that will have your guests "ooo-ing" and "ahhh-ing" over every fantastic detail, or you just need someone to be THE BOSS and make sure that your event goes off without a hitch, I am your girl.
While my EventCraftery may be new to the scene, I am no stranger to the event industry. I have 6+ years of professional event planning and management experience, with events ranging in size from 50-1,500 guests. In addition to private wedding clients, my previous employers and clients include the Special Olympics Relay Across America, The Executives' Club of Chicago, The Center for Law and Social Work, and Nerds at Heart, a geek-themed social events company.

I held my wedding reception in a 'barcade', and while the existing decor in the space was quite vibrant, I wanted to give it our own look for the party. I needed someone I could count on to come up with some great ideas and help me decorate the space the day of the reception when I was busy getting ready. I was also coordinating this party from across the country and wouldn't be in town until a few days before.
Anna fit the bill perfectly and far exceeded my expectations - she listened to my needs, made several great suggestions, came up with a plan, and met with me to discuss it in the event space. She was understanding and respectful of our tastes and opinions.
I hadn't gotten past the idea of a few balloons and some tissue paper balls, but Anna really went above and beyond. She integrated the decor into the space really nicely and everything looked fantastic. Our guests were complimenting us on the look of the space all night!

My husband and I hired Anna to be the day-of coordinator for our wedding. And in all of the wedding decisions we needed to make, hiring Anna was easily one of the best ones. She is wonderful!
She is incredibly professional, organized, patient, and fun to work with! (As a project manager in my own job, I still felt so comfortable handing everything over to her.) I don't think I would have been able to enjoy our wedding day as much as I did had I had to think about all of the things Anna took on for us.

We hired Anna at the last minute to coordinate our wedding reception and to make sure everything ran smoothly and according to our timeline at the event. Anna did better than we could've asked for to make our wedding so beautiful and memorable. We actually got to enjoy our reception, which I know is something that most couples don't get to do. Hiring Anna was so worth it, and we are so grateful for her amazing skills in leading a large crowd through an event!

I first met Anna while volunteering with the guest services team at Soul City Church. She was newer to the church at that time, but it didnât take her long to work her way up to becoming a fellow team lead with guest services. It became immediately clear that Anna knew her way around with leading a group of people (in this case, fellow volunteers) through the machinations of having a team of three to four people welcome between three to four hundred for each service. During that time, I learned of Annaâs experience with assisting with events on a much larger scale. While not realizing it then, that piece of information would come in handy one day.
About a year after meeting Anna, the Center for Law and Social Work, a non-profit that I was active board member, decided to make a leap of faith decision. We decided that we wanted to increase the attendance at our major annual event by over 200% (in fact, we probably ended up with a number closer to a 250% increase). While we were dreaming big, we did not have the experience of handling an event on such a large scale. After having a âwhat did we get ourselves into moment,â a thought occurred to me. We needed some help, and Anna was one that I thought may be able to help us out. After introducing Anna to our executive director and a key staff member at a lunch one day, we quickly engaged Anna to help us with the logistics of our event, including the venue selection and contract, sponsorship kits and day-of management. Working with Anna was a great experience. The event was a great success, and we are looking to keep pressing forward with making our next annual event even one bigger and better. Thank you, Anna, for being a part of that transformation with us.

Seriously, our wedding day would have been a disaster without Anna. She met with us early on to gain an understanding of our vision and offer her professional wisdom when it came to logistics we hadn't fully considered. Our location was a summer camp in Michigan. It was a beautiful setting, but we had to do all the work ourselves, so there were lots of moving pieces and groups of people to manage. She came out the day before to help with all of the heavy lifting and to be absolutely sure everything was in order. So many details would have been overlooked and fallen through the cracks without her thoroughness. She stuck to our vision and offered her professional opinion when it was necessary along the way, which we whole-heartedly trusted. I could confidently relax and mingle with my guests knowing everything in the background was running smoothly by Anna. Any bumps we experienced, she handled calmly and with perfect grace. It can be a hard thing to surrender control on your wedding day, but I didn't even think twice about it. Our friends and family even took notice of what an asset she was to our special day. Bottom line; Anna rocks!
