Introduction

Kubik Legal is an Illinois licensed divorce and child custody law firm. We keep one eye on your minimizing your legal costs where possible, and the other eye on achieving your goals. Sara Kubik is an owner and attorney of Kubik Legal. She was a legal client who had her own custody battle, and that is why she went to law school. Now she can be your advocate. We operate our firm in a way that is efficient and effective. We know family law; that is a given. But unlike many other law firms, we want you to achieve your goals in a way that minimizes your overall costs. Too many attorneys will string out your case because it makes them more money. We've heard it from too many people and seen it done with other attorneys. There's a lot a law firm can do to try to keep your costs down while, at the same time, try to get your case resolved so you can move on with your life. Sara Kubik, was extremely professional, knowledgeable of the courts, and understanding of my situation. I couldnt have asked for a better attorney to fit my needs, while going through court for custody of my 5 year old son. Having been through the courts in a similar situation of her own, she is very aware of how stressful and expensive it can become and did everything she could to help keep costs and stress at a minimum. Through my experience with Sara I found that, even with her busy schedule, she was always just a text, e-mail, or phone call away! Of course, she was always willing to meet in person anytime, anywhere, but in the interest of keeping costs under control, we agreed that this would be the most efficient way to communicate. Also, I never left court wondering what was happening, or what was just said. She always made sure that everything was perfectly clear before we went our separate ways. She would explain why what ever happened, happened, and explain to me the next steps of what I should do or what she had to do next. Sara always answered all my questions and made sure that I was never left in the dark as to what was going on with my case. She cares, she listens, pays attention, asks questions. I felt like she genuinely cared about my situation and it wasnt just another case.. another pay check. I met with a good handful of lawyers before I decided to go with Sara and she just has a different personality than others. I felt like I was talking to a real genuine person. If I, or anyone I know is ever going through family court, she will always be my first Choice!Thank you for Everything Sara!

You're the ideal client for me: someone who is comfortable working with me from a distance (through email, telephone, texting), someone who treats your lawsuit as serious/ works with an attorney to get your case resolved, and (on a personal note) just a really great parent. Your son is fortunate that you were brave enough to go through litigation. It's not a fun, or cheap, experience. As you mentioned, I've been a legal client. Sara has been amazing to work with. She was very easy to communicate with, whether it was through text, email, over the phone or in person. She also didnt charge an arm and a leg for any communication. She was very professional and tried to get the case resolved as quickly as possible.

Thank you for the review, Delia. I prefer to work with people who ask questions about their case and the legal process they are going through. When I was a legal client, I was often frustrated that my attorneys left me one word replies to my emails. I don't know why they did this, but that's not how I operate (unless I am texting back to a person.. then we can blame my lack of thumb dexterity). We live in an age where a lot of communication can happen *without* it being face-to-face communication. Lawyers love to communicate face-to-face... they can bill a lot for the larger chunks of time. Sometimes that's required... but I base my lawyer-communication style similar to my personal-communication style = shorter bits of communication being delivered using tech. Plus, that helps keep the cost to the client as low as possible! -Sara

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our prices are competitive with other Chicagoland divorce attorneys, maybe even a bit lower. However, because of how we operate, we want to get your case resolved sooner than later, while also achieving your goals. Why? So you don't overspend on litigation fees because divorces and child custody lawsuits can be really expensive. Let us help you resolve your case in a way that is efficient and effective.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We give free 15-minute phone consultations for potential new clients. We'll listen to your story and tell you, honestly, how Kubik Legal would, or would not be a good fit for you. Lawyers and clients work closely together so it's important that people feel comfortable with the lawyers they hire. If there is a good fit, we'll email you documents for you to review and sign. We'll email you information on how to pay a retainer online. What we WON'T do is make you come into an office for either the initial consultation or when we represent you. Because family law attorneys do not need law offices, ultimately. And that is one less expense that we do not pass onto our clients.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Sara Kubik is the owner of Kubik Legal. She holds many degrees: a BA in Graphic Design from the University of Notre Dame, an MBA in Marketing from the University of Miami, a JD in law from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, and a PhD in Technology from Purdue University. She also went through her own child custody matter, so she's been where you probably are now. Sara uses her experiences and education to make Kubik Legal efficient and effective for their clients.
