- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I am a linguist, I love words, phrases and paragraphs.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I edit and/or translate medical manuscripts and prepare them for publication; I edit grant proposals and other texts; sometimes i ghostwrite small things. I also teach French language, phonetics, grammar, stylistics and literature to highly motivated adults.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
First, know exactly what you think you want from a service provider, whether an editor, translator or tutor; then, if possible, discuss it with more than one prospective providers and take advice from them; finally, do not hire any one unless you are both confident that your now common project has a serious chance of being successfully completed within a reasonable time frame.
