Introduction: Hi! My name is Jennifer Odisho. I’ve been on a spiritual journey for many years. I’ve always been intuitive and a person who gets excited about all things spiritual or metaphysical and discussing the deeper meaning of life. I come from a family of healers that have shared their wisdom with me since I was little. They've been my teachers and have guided me in developing my inner knowing and gifts.
I became a Reiki Master because I found that of all of the practices I’ve tried, Reiki has been the most profound experience and has changed my life for the better. When I first started receiving Reiki treatments, I had such a big shift in my awareness. During my sessions, my practitioner and I uncovered layers and layers of stuck energy I had stored away in my body over the years. It was the best feeling every time I had an “aha” moment during my treatments. Those breakthroughs changed the way I looked at things and ultimately changed the trajectory of my life.
I left the comfort of my government job of 19 years to pursue my own practice as an Intuitive Energy Healer in Chicago, IL. I knew deep down that this was my gift to share with others. I feel so strongly in the power of energy healing and ultimately that the ability to heal ourselves comes from within. The guidance, answers and wisdom that we are searching for have always been with us. When we go deeper, open our heart and connect to the whispers of our soul we can unlock our inner wisdom which allows us to heal. I can honestly say it is my true calling and I’ve never felt more authentic than when I’m helping to guide others on their journey of rediscovering their true selves. I’m so very grateful!
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a form of energy medicine that originated in Japan. Reiki comes from the Japanese word meaning, “universal life force energy.” This universal energy flows through all living things. Science has proven that everything in the Universe is made up of energy all vibrating differently. Reiki is based on the idea that there is a life force energy flowing through and around us nourishing our physical and energetic bodies. When a person’s body, mind and spirit are in a positive state of mind this energy is strong, free-flowing and in harmony. However, there are times in our lives when our energy is low, imbalanced, restricted by stress, injury, or illness. Trauma, false belief systems, emotional and mental stress create blocks of stuck energy that are stored in the energy fields of our bodies, impacting our ability to function at our full potential.
These blocks obstruct the vital flow of energy through our body and systems that is necessary for our health and well being. Over time this leads to illness and depleted mental and emotional reserves while making us more susceptible to discomfort, further illness and disease. When our energy centers or chakras are out of alignment we can feel stagnant, unmotivated, uncertain and confused on how to move forward.
Reiki, being a high vibrational energy force, can help restore and balance the flow of energy so that one is able to feel relaxed allowing the body’s own innate healing abilities to work fully. It can be considered a “spring cleaning” by moving the unwanted energy out of the body, mind and spirit. Reiki is transmitted through a practitioner, who acts as a channel and must be trained and attuned to that energy. A Reiki practitioner can be looked at as an anchor on the physical plane who is able to bring through certain frequencies of energy for the benefit of themselves & other people. They’re a gateway to helping others restore their own well being.
What is Distant Reiki?
I am currently doing all treatments remotely where we do not meet in person. Reiki, also known as Universal Life Force Energy, teaches us that we are more than just our physical bodies. We all have access to this life force energy, otherwise known as our chi, qi or prana that flows through each and every living being. Our energy bodies are made up of our aura (energy fields), the chakras (energy centers) and the meridians (energy pathways). Our physical body, thoughts, emotions and spiritual center are all made up of energy vibrating within us. They are all interconnected. Reiki energy connects on our spiritual and energetic levels.
Distant Reiki is one of many ways to connect with and channel this energy for the healing benefit of others. Since energy is not limited by distance, the recipient does not have to be physically present during a session. The effects of a remote Reiki healing are virtually no different than in person. The benefits of a remote session may be better for some because they are more comfortable in their own space and open to receiving. Most Reiki practitioners have clients located in many different areas and can send healing energy to people or animals all over the world.
What happens during a Distant Reiki session?
A distant Reiki treatment will follow the exact format as conducted in person but you’ll be in the comfort of your own home or office. All you need is a quiet room where you will not be interrupted to be able to connect to the energy. Distant Reiki has exactly the same benefits as in person Reiki. The most important part is to be open to receiving the healing.
My sessions start with a 15-20 minute phone conversation to discuss how you’re feeling, any primary health concerns, anything you’d like to focus on physically, emotionally or spiritually and to set an intention for your treatment. I provide a form of spiritual counseling pertaining to what we discuss. From my clients feedback, it has been very beneficial to them alongside the energy healing. We will end the call and you will then find a quiet place to lie down and listen to meditative music for the next 45 minutes while I connect to the Reiki energy and send to you during that time. I’ll do a body scan to determine which chakras (energy centers) of the body are open or closed. The goal is to have all of the chakras open. When the treatment is complete, we will have another phone conversation to see how you’re feeling and to discuss any intuitive guidance I received. The full appointment time is approximately 1.5hrs.
