How much is commercial window cleaning?
The national average cost to clean windows is $120-$170. Typically, window washing for commercial spaces costs less per window than residential window washing, but has a higher overall price because the greater number of windows. Commercial window cleaning companies may charge a standard rate per window — for example, $3 to clean the exterior only, with a higher rate of $4 or $5 to also clean the interior. There may be an additional charge, such as an extra $1 per window, for scrubbing off water stains or deep-cleaning window tracks. Double-hung windows require more labor and will therefore cost more to clean. Companies may charge a flat rate, such as $8 per double-hung window or $9 per French door, to account for the added work. Building height will play a factor in window washing costs. Standard cleaning for one- and two-story buildings will typically stay within the same range, but cleaning high-rise windows may entail special safety permits and equipment, which would increase costs. Your location will also affect window washing costs. Smaller towns and areas with a lower cost to do business will have lower window cleaning rates than large cities.
Reviews for Chicago home window cleaners

J and M are a mark above excellent. I cannot even believe how my home looks so beautiful with these these sparkling windows. They worked so hard and did such a great job I would highly recommend them to anyone. I plan on having them back every year. They are lovely people and take cleaningwindows to a level of perfection. As you can see I am so happy.
Forgot to mention we have over 40 windows and storms in a house that has windows that are at least 75 years old. See a few examples
Thank you

Though we decided not to move forward with our project, I appreciate that CleanWindows was so responsive and thorough (even coming out to our home in order to provide an accurate estimate of the cost). Looking forward to our paths crossing in the near future.

Please keep in mind that this review is for the customer service experience I had. Unfortunately I am unable to review their work as we never got to that point.
I reached out to this company and got a quote pretty quickly. They even came out to our place to check that their quote was accurate, which was a great start. It was all downhill from there.
They were scheduled to come on a Friday between 4 and 6. I asked my boss if I could leave a few minutes early so that I could make sure I was home by 4. I waited around for a while, and then called at 4:45 to get an update since there was no communication that day on their timing, which was fine but I wanted to see if they had a better idea of when they’d be arriving. They answered the phone and told me they would call the technicians and get right back to me. I waited, and waited, and didn’t get a call back. So I called again at 5:30 since they window of 4 - 6 was closing. Their response was “oh yeah, at this point it’s looking like they won’t make it, they will come tomorrow morning”. I asked when exactly, and they said they would call me first thing in the morning. So I emailed all the tenants in my building and told them to expect the cleaners in the morning.
The next morning I did not receive a phone call “first thing in the morning”, so I called them at 10:30am to see what the status was. They responded “it will be closer to this afternoon” and he even said “I have your paperwork in front of me, and I promise we will get it done today.” They said I didn’t need to be home, and that they could email me an invoice. Fine, it was helpful to know I didn’t need to be home since it was rescheduled yet again.
Come 4pm they still hadn’t come. I called and emailed again and they said they would have to come out Monday. At this point the tenants in my building were pretty sick of all the emails with rescheduling and we were very wary of this company, but we decided to let them come Monday, especially because I asked for a discount and they said they would honor that. They still said it was fine if I wasn’t home.
Then, the window washers came by on Sunday afternoon (without a heads up that they were stopping by and I wasn’t home) and spoke with another tenant in our building. They told her they need access to our side gate and to our neighbors yard. Not enough time to get in touch with our neighbors, and I was told I didn’t need to be home to help them get through the gate. I emailed and called on Monday morning with my concerns, and again I was told they would call the technicians and get right back to me. No phone call back ever came.
I emailed them on Monday evening, after no one had showed up to clean the windows that day, and told them we were going with another company. They responded that they would definitely be out on Tuesday, but I had had enough and asked them not to come. They might do a great job cleaningwindows, but their customer service was disappointing.
Update on 7/21/18 after they responded to my review:
I really don’t want to respond to this because I want to be done dealing with this company, but their response is a complete lie. One of the biggest issues I had with the customer service was their lack of communication. They never called me back when promised when I was trying to schedule the service, but then within minutes of putting up my review Will called me 6 times in a row until I answered. I didn’t recognize the number right away, and when I saw they were calling so many times in a row I excused myself from a meeting to take the call assuming it was an emergency. Instead it was Will saying he couldn’t believe I didn’t have anything better to do than write that review. Then Evan from the company emailed me saying they would like to make things better and would like the opportunity to fix the issue with free service. I really didn’t enjoy working with them, but a free service is pretty great, so I responded saying I was possibly interested. He then said it wouldn’t be free, but it would be discounted to $600. I was quoted $460 so I was very confused by this “discounted price”. He said the most recent quote in his system was $760, but that was never communicated to me. I was only told $460. This tells me they would have shocked me with a bill if I hadn’t learned this information. I obviously said I would find another company, and we had a great company come by this week, at the time they said they would, and they charged $500, which was exactly their quote. Glad we went with them instead, and I really hope I don’t get 6 threatening phone calls in a row again after this response.
