In advance, I apologize for the long, but necessary review. I contacted Performance Appliance Repair (Arlin) re error codes appearing on my Kenmore Whirlpool washing machine- as such the washer was not operating. Upon researching, I saw that the error code was for the pressure sensor. I decided to see if I could repair the machine instead purchasing a new washer and possible dryer-since they were stacked machines. Through our conversations, Arlin appeared very knowledgeable of the problem - and agreed to not upsale the cost of the parts and recommended the parts to be replaced. He charged ($345.00) for parts- which I thought was high, but less than purchasing new machines. The cost of the visit and repair would be $300.00. He put on the parts that were allegedly the problem and the washer was still inoperable. He then stated that it must be the control board, which was another $40.00 dollars. Although this was becoming financially more expensive than I expected - I had gone this far and agreed to purchase the board - which I purchased directly. He agreed to come back and for, no additional cost -which I appreciated- to install the board once it came in. When I received the board I contacted Arlin and his scheduler to set a date for him to return. On the agreed upon date, Arlin did not show up at the agreed upon time. I called him and he said the scheduler had not put it on the schedule. I was disappointed - I was now without a working machine for 3 weeks. We agreed to another date. He arrived at the agreed upon time, put on the board and the same error codes were appearing - the machine was not operable. I had also purchased a pressure hose to be attached. he previously stated that the hose was fine and not the problem. However, when he commenced to put on the hose, he claimed that the plastic piece the hose was attached to was "dry rotted" - although it appeared to me broken off. He said he would look for the piece that was broke and said I could as well and he would install it. I have not heard from him since this visit. I paid Performance Appliance Repair more than $700.00 for an inoperable washing machine.
