Our captain happens to be a 15 year veteran, figure competitor, athlete, and also a doctor of physical therapy. We have a full service health & wellness staff that will help get you to your goal. Personal trainers, yoga & pilates instructors, massage therapists, and most importantly - our registered dietitian. Not only do you have access to everyone on our team but our team is made up from the top instructors and trainers in the Chicago-land area: -Five of our trainers have Master or Doctorate degrees -Our registered dietitian has a master's degree in Nutrition -You have access to our physical therapist for any issues such as poor mobility, pain, and poor flexibility. Prior to beginning a training program with us we offer a complimentary fitness assessment. This assessment will take place inside your apartment, office, or home. It typically takes about 45-60 minutes in length and we take all of your baseline measurements such as weight, body fat %, and tape measurements. Using these measurements we will construct a customized diet plan for you created by our dietitian. Once we discuss goals, timelines, and formulate a workout plan we will do the "fitness test". The "fitness test" involves checking your aerobic endurance, strength, mobility, flexibility, balance, and coordination. Using our graded system, we will figure out exactly what areas you need to improve on. Aesthetics is important, and we understand that our clients want to work on certain body groups. We are happy to help construct programs to target those specific areas by request. When someone asks me what I love most about my job the answer is very simple. I love seeing results. I specifically love when clients email me on how exercise changed their life either by eliminating back pain, getting off blood pressure/cholesterol medications, and making them feel more secure about their body.

I found Chitown Trainer on Thumbtack and have been working with them for over a month now. I'm so glad I chose them over other trainers that contacted me. They know what they are doing, are convenient, and all at a fair price! I genuinely feel that they are concerned with making me better as opposed to just making a profit like some others on here. From the initial time of contact they are extremely responsive and get you training quickly. Konrad spent the time getting to know me and my fitness goals, as well as evaluating my individual needs. He was quick to identify where I needed work and how to resolve it. Within a day or two you are set up with a trainer and working out in the convenience of your apartment building. My trainer Craig has been great! I am always challenged with a different workout (not the same routine over and over like some other trainers), and I have already seen gains in 30 days. He's knowledgeable, motivating, and challenging but also listens to how you're feeling and doesn't make you do anything you aren't ready for. This was the first time I used Thumbtack and I'm glad I went with Chitown Trainer!

My husband and I are TTC and I wanted to strengthen my core and build nice strong muscles to help prepare my body to carry baby. The number of PT students (who are about to graduate, by the way) on staff helped push me over the edge. Konrad met up with me and was extremely nice and encouraging, never chastising me for my lack of working out just understanding where I am and what my goals are. I was impressed with how quickly Konrad identified issues that I would need to work on (e.g., I arch my back too much and over-extend my knees). My trainer is Mary Kay and she has been really nice and easy to work with. She challenges me but also really respects my body and always comes up with an alternative exercise if something just isn't feeling right for me. She is always prompt and comes prepared for our workouts. She really understands that my goal is to strengthen my body for pregnancy and just general health and wellness, not to become a body builder or athlete, and she really tailors her workouts accordingly. She is also very encouraging, accommodating, and accessible. I chose to have Mary Kay come over twice each week and I work out on my own once during the week. Mary Kay always sends me a workout to do on my solo day and she includes information on how to do everything (since I don't know my way around a gym quite yet). She also follows up to ask how I'm feeling after workouts, if anything needs to change, etc. Honestly, working out with Mary Kay has made something that used to be scary and intimidating a really fun and enjoyable activity that I look forward to. A one hour workout sounds so intimidating to someone who doesn't workout regularly but I am constantly surprised at how fast the time flies now.
