- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Piano home tutorials for Chicago is $40/hr but I can still create an affordable package for each individual student.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I tell them my services, give them a background of what I do. Tell them my goals and expectation for the student. At the end of the day, I give homework for them to apply on what they have learned from the lesson.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a piano and music education major. Minor in voice and viola at the University of the Philippines Conservatory of Music since 1980. My first training was teaching little kids starting with the age of 3 1/2 years old, then I continued to teach 5, 6, 7 years old and up to high school and adult which happens to be the parents of my students. I was also invited to join the "Ave Maria Choir" for the San Francisco tour in 1982 - 1983 and, also taught choir groups of a Chinese school Alumnae, trained a catholic community church choir, and high school choirs. Played 2nd viola with the Philippine Youth Orchestra. Played with a christian rock, r&b, jazz, rock bands. I also worked as background singer for popular artist. Worked at the Techniques Music studio for piano and electric keyboard lessons. I taught piano lessons for the young and adult students for 33 years. At present, I am the keyboardist of a christian rock group called "Nations Feet".
