FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I decided to become a Spanish tutor in order to help other learn a new language, the culture and history involved with as well so they can better understand the language itself.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common types of jobs I have done for my client has been for example, if the client is a high school student I will first ask them to provide me with a course syllabus and course materials so I can better understand what their course is about. In the case they have an exam I look at examples of the material in the exam and provide the student with a study guide with several practice parts concerning to the material in the exam in order to test the student's understanding of the material, then depending on the overall results the student got on the study guide I would go on to discuss with the student whatever material he/she had the most difficulties with. When it comes to assignments like papers or presentations for example I go on to look at the instructions of the project/assignment, then I go over detalis with the student in order to see what kind of ideas he/she has regarding the assignment and help him/her develop their ideas even further. Then depending on the amount of time he/she has left to complete such an assignment I recommend the student to email an updated draft of the assignment so I can evaluate it and make comments/suggestions for the student in order for him/her to improve their assignment. I also with the student's permission contact the teacher/professor in order to find out what difficulties the student has in order to improve our tutoring lessons. This has been proven to work with previous students I have tutored in the past.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
