FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge a fixed rate per hour depending on the subject. I offer a discount for online tutoring, a discount for sessions longer than 1 hour, a discount for 3 or more hours of tutoring purchased in advance, and a discount for tutoring sessions conducted close to MIT.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically begin with a conversation to discuss how tutoring can help, whether it be score improvement on a standardized exam or ad hoc subject-specific questions. If tutoring includes test prep, I also ask students to take a practice/diagnostic test so that I can prepare some material ahead of time. The first session is typically an hour or 90 minutes.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I obtained perfect scores or scores in the top 1% on all the standardized tests I tutor (SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, AP tests, SAT Subject Tests) and have taken multiple advanced university courses in all the academic subjects I tutor (chemistry, physics, calculus, statistics, biology). I have a master's degree in chemical engineering and bachelor's degree with a dual major in chemical engineering and chemistry.
